I like may others have found that the remote batteries drain very quickly though. Crazy for such a smal device. Mine lasted only a couple of weeks. I've now got into the habit of popping them out when not in use. Far from ideal. The app is a fine solution but still disappointing that a work around is needed

We especially like that you can enhance the speech track so you can better understand what is being said instead of it being drowned out by background music. We were so impressed with this product, we bought a second one. Can’t wait until the smaller speakers and subwoofer arrive to try them out.

I purchased the unit for the ability to automatically dampen the volume on commercials and to do the same on background music (noise) to improve the speech quality of regular programs which it seems to do quite well. Installing it is a bit of a challenge for an old fool like me, but we eventually succeeded. All in all, I am happy with it.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because my 40" flatscreen is not a "smart" tv, and because I liked the idea of ROKU built-in and my hearing isn't what it used to be, I thought this soundbar with voice boost would be perfect for me. I was going to move my ROKU device to the bedroom tv and make this my device for the living room. I have been using my home stereo system with my 70's Kenwood floor speakers, which I love the warm sound of, as my tv speakers for years. But the dialog just wasn't coming through for me lately and I've had to use subtitles for a while. Thinking this was the answer, I gave it a try. However, the fullness, warmth and stereo separation of my stereo system was gone. Yes, the adjustable voice settings made the dialog stand out, actually so much so that it was annoying. The dialog sat "on top" of the sound so much that it somehow sounded artificial to me, while losing the fullness of my old sound. I think this ROKU system would be great if you've been used to built-in tv speakers though. Unfortunately I had to return it.
