My husband has only had his ps5 for a month and a half and our daughter messed the controller up. Luckily I got the warranty and getting the new one mailed to me.

Its not always necessary, but, for the high ticket items it comes in handy and Best buy stands behind their guarentee (i.e. tv's, computer, gaming consoles, etc). In the past, they did a direct swap of a faulty PC and gave me peace of mind.
