    No email asking if i want extend the protection

    I want extend my protection of my camera but now is expired and any body send to me email before asking for extension of my protection now I can't pay for a extension of my plan

      Hello Mayphoto – While we sometimes offer renewals on our Geek Squad Protection Plans, we do not offer them in all cases, for a variety of reasons. I apologize if this wasn’t relayed to you at the time of your purchase. The best way to check in to see if your plans are renewable, in case any renewal emails get lost to a spam filter, is to visit your local Best Buy store and ask an employee there to look your plans up periodically. They should be able to tell you if you have any plans currently up for renewal.

    Not how the protection plan is supposed to work

    Have an issue with one of my lenses and was told that I will have ro buy a new lens feom somewhere else and THEN wait approximately 30 days for Best Buy to reimburse me. I purchased the protection plan specifically so I wouldn't have to deal with stuff like this.

    Never used it. If something had happened to this camera I'm sure it would have been worth it, but I take care of my stuff so ...

    Bought the added insurance, had a computer issue

    Bought the added insurance the store offered and low and behold had a camera flaw that could not be fixed and then they had the tenacity to say your camera has been taken off our shelves so insurance cannot exchange cameras for you as it was supposed to do...but instead it will give you a refund of what you paid and you can buy a more expensive camera on your dollar,,.,, they should replace with the same or one close to it since I did not decide to stop carrying the product. BOOO for best buy and their insurance policy.

    Warranty does not get your camera replaced. Even if they tell you that it does. Geek squad will “service” it. I don’t think that it’s even Sony that does the work. Very unhappy.

    If geek squad is as bad as best buys commitment to customer service skip this buy with a credit card that carries warranty like the costco credit card.

    We just brought in our camera for repair and we were told it may take up to 2 months to get it back. We were not told about the LONG wait time when purchasing the warranty. It makes us very hesitant to buy an large purchases at Best Buy again.

    Pictures were not great. Came missing a piece. When i returned it, got charged a couple hundred for a “restocking fee” even though it was still in return window.

    Replacement plan

    Had a lens not auto focus took it to get replaced and don’t have a back up camera they said it would take weeks instead of swapping out the lens they had in store still haven’t had lens replace because need the camera so can’t get it replaced until I buy a new camera

    I took my camera for a repair and the tech didnt even try to see what was wrong. They automatically gave me a new one and it cancels the insurance. If you want to continue with it you have to pay again.

    Service sucks, you have to make an appointment to being it in, however, they don't tell you nicely you have to so that they just either ignore you or tell you to comeback another day like we have time to come to the store all the time.

    Geek squad protection is nice to have but very unconventional to have to have ur camera and anything u buy from there shipped out. Especially when u run ur business with what I'm having serviced.

    Broke my SLT Camera

    Sent my Sony A68 in for a repair and they broke the housing for my Semi Translucent mirror. It stays in place but it moves around now causing images to be blurry.

    Geek squad is a joke. "repair or replace" is a joke. They just send you someones broken/repaired junk. Awesome. What a colossal waste of money.
