    I am usually really happy with Geek Squad protection on most all the tech that I've bought at Best Buy. This time having coverage for my son's Nintendo Switch, I am severely disappointed. His Nintendo Switch was a few weeks old when the LCD screen went out due to a factory defect. The Switch was shipped out of state to where the units are worked on through Nintendo certified technicians, and it took a total of two to three weeks for the unit to get back to the store. They found the Switch was defective due to factory defect, and instead of Best Buy having a policy to just replace the Switch with a new one because of a factory defect, Best Buy's policy basically states, you get a "like new" refurbished unit (close to cost). You have to have two or three refurbished units break on you before they will give you a brand new one. Regardless that I spent $300 for a brand new Nintendo Switch, I do not get to have a new Switch for my son. Be warned if you choose to have Black Tie coverage for your Nintendo. I am now in the process of waiting another possible two weeks on receiving either a second used unit, or fixing the same used one to replace the brand new one I bought nine months ago.

    I bought the 2 year warranty for my Nintendo switch Oled and I was having some problems with it so I took it in thinking that I could just swap for a new one and they didn’t explain to me that the switch needed to be taken in so that they can take a look at it when I bought the warranty.

    Ended up using this on my Nintendo Switch. It was buggy even after erasing and update, had joy con drift, battery quit working and had to stay plugged in. I figured they’d credit me like they normally do when using geek squad and a product clearly fails OR replace it which I was totally cool with. Would’ve been happy with a refurbished one even. But instead they sent it in? I thought it was fixed but it still has issues. Screen randomly flickers, I think they replaced the battery because it’s better, still stick drift. And now it sometimes doesn’t read games. Before I purchase geek squad again for an item I’ll be sure to figure out what the policy is using it on that item.

    I purchased the 2 year accidental plan for our Nintendo switch. In the first year the Switch’s cord and port went bad. They did make the repair and stated afterwards, that the repair was more than the value of the game unit. So, they cancelled our plan. Why was that? When the plan says 2 year accidental coverage. It was after the repair we began buying game cartridges for it and there it doesn’t work with them. We have to download all our games.

    The customer support is good but take you more time than expected even if you have a date, then the waiting time is really long for whaterver reason you have problems with your divice is 2 weeks waiting min. It was better the best buy guarantee than this

    First bad experience with geek squad. Bout a switch lite for my son and had tp have replaced in a 6 month period. Every item i have ever warrantied i was credited money back and was able to re purchase my geek squad protection. But not for this device. Then whats the point. Couldnt use manufacturers warranty. Was given no notices or updates. Just heres a new device. Was unpleased with this one episode. All other experiences good.

    I believe this one was for the tv but sadly my mothers tv fell and screen was broken and warranty didn’t cover it would love to get atleast part of the insurance money back since she will no longer Needed exp2022

    It was not honored on my monitor stop turning on so I had to buy a completely new monitor. Hopefully i will never have to use it

    If they can't fix it then they replace it how good can it get. Just its a little pricey depending on how much you spend to protect it.

    When I purchased GSP on this item, I was aware that the repairs to this product could cover up to the original retail price of the item as I had ordered it. However, when the repair that was used for it was used on a repair that was less than EVEN THE AMOUNT OF GSP ITSELF, I was appalled. I very much did not get my value out of this product, and would not recommend it to anyone unless they make sure to damage it as much as possible before sending it in for repair, because this is bullcrap.

    I purchased a Nintendo switch July 2020 with the 2 year extended warranty. It’s may 2021 and we had to take it in because the hdmi port wasn’t working. After them checking it out they said it was unfixable so they gave us a gift card for $320 to purchase a new one. We also had to pay extra for a new two year warranty for this new console- this is where I’m upset. Either it’s a two year warranty and we can use it as much as needed for two years or just say it’s a “one incident warranty” because you can only use it once and that’s it.

    Very great Nintendo but pay more expensive for a especial edition and don’t come with the game … Nintendo need change this selling a Zelda especial edition without the Zelda game no make sense..
