    Best buy has the best warranty

    We always get our electronics from best buy. They have the best warranty for electronics we have yet to find. Most warranties will not cover accidentals on items such as screen cracks or drops and water damage ect. Best buys warranty does. We haven't had to use the service were normally pretty good with our electronics but were very worried getting the new Nintendo Switch as all new systems can have flaws and issues. It will be much easier working with Best Buy if something goes wrong than with Nintendo after seeing others issues with dealing with Nintendo. Not only do they usually carry anything electronic that we want but they will price match competition as well. And you get points to redeem for gift certificates. Stack those with credit card incentives weather using best buy or your choice of others. You could get a good amount back. If your going to spend the money anyways might as well get points on the purchases and protect the items with good warranty.

    I am usually really happy with Geek Squad protection on most all the tech that I've bought at Best Buy. This time having coverage for my son's Nintendo Switch, I am severely disappointed. His Nintendo Switch was a few weeks old when the LCD screen went out due to a factory defect. The Switch was shipped out of state to where the units are worked on through Nintendo certified technicians, and it took a total of two to three weeks for the unit to get back to the store. They found the Switch was defective due to factory defect, and instead of Best Buy having a policy to just replace the Switch with a new one because of a factory defect, Best Buy's policy basically states, you get a "like new" refurbished unit (close to cost). You have to have two or three refurbished units break on you before they will give you a brand new one. Regardless that I spent $300 for a brand new Nintendo Switch, I do not get to have a new Switch for my son. Be warned if you choose to have Black Tie coverage for your Nintendo. I am now in the process of waiting another possible two weeks on receiving either a second used unit, or fixing the same used one to replace the brand new one I bought nine months ago.

    Haven't had a need to use the extra service yet. But it is good to have peace of mind because the game console is used by kids who may not be very careful with it.

    Got earbuds? Get 2-year Geek Squad protection!

    The 2-year accidental Geek Squad protection plan is music to your wallet if you (or various family members) go through earbuds more often than the car gets washed! The earbuds we prefer cost between $20 and $30. With regular (daily!) use, those delicate wires just give out within 8 months to a year. With the Geek Squad protection plan, you just take the dead ones back to the store and exchange them for new ones--that's sooo much better than paying another $20 - $30 when you have several family members to buy for. Yes, we could buy cheaper 'buds, but the sound quality just isn't the same--especially for the audiophiles in the household. I don't buy protection for my personal pair because I just don't use them often enough (I've had the same pair for over 2 years), but for the rest of the family, it's a no-brainer.

    Great service program, have used it a couple of times in the past and never had any issues! They are very knowledgeable about the service provided. If the insured item is no longer available, they give you credit for the value amount! In most cases you get a newer version!

    One of the biggest reasons I buy at Best Buy is the replacement plan. This is especially prudent if you're buying your child their first Nintendo Switch. :) I can't imagine what I'd feel if this thing broke and I was on the hook to fix it without any help from Best Buy. I will continue to buy at Best Buy as long as they keep offering their 2 year accidental geek squad protection plans. It gives me amazing piece of mind on tech which tends to be expensive.

    Bought a 2 year protector plan for my son’s Nintendo Switch. 4 months prior to the warranty expiring, the Switch had minor technical issues. While it was still operational, it started making strange noises. Made an appointment with Geek Squad. They didn’t even bother doing diagnostic testing. They just replaced it with a brand new system! Best warranty EVER!
