Bought a 3 year accidental protection plan with new computer in US when on a trip, computer broke 1 month after bought it. Try to get serviced - geek squad Canada refuses to take responsibility. Turns out the store supervisor in US gave me false info as to protection plan service applicability in Canada when prompted on that matter. Turns out its my fault for believing what I was told in stores. Leave a message to store manager = no call back. Ok so reach out Geek Squad US, they write to me to go to Geek Squad Canada, have it repaired pay out of pocket, send bill and I will get reimbursed by mail. Fine, not practical but ok. Leave my computer with GeekSquad Canada, pay a deposit 100$, they ship it out of province, they give me estimate, I send estimate to Geek Sqad US for a written OK as precaution . Well I get a new written response saying Geek Squad is sorry, they made a mistake and they will not cover the expenses and they refer me to this international division. Or I can take a trip back to the US and bring it in store. Turns out its my fault for executing what I was instructed to do by Geek Squad again in writing this time! Now, computer is broken for over 1 month. Seems I am paying for the computer+ the accidental warranty+ the deposit+ the repairs. Did about 15 calls of 1 hour with Canada and US. Was transferred about 5x on each of the 15 calls, got contradicting info every call, was hung up on and even though Geek Squad US ask for your number in case they disconnect - they dont call back. I now know that GeekSqad Canada and US are competitors and the customer is stuck in between this competition. I have no clue what to do or who to believe anymore its incredible.

It's amazing that I can take it back to the store is anything happens to it.

Considered a good product for the insurance policy fee

Best thing to buy if you have clumsy kids like mine lol. Never go with out it.

Its good to have insurance on such products for at least an year's protection.
