Don't get this protect plan if you believe you are going to get your money's worth, which you aren't. I had my laptop for about 8 months when it fell off my bed one night while I was studying late and night and it left a tiny crack and blob of yellow ink in the top left corner. I didn't think it was bad, but I brought it in to the Geek Squad just in case to have it fixed and repaired. They shipped it out, had the screen ordered, and would ship it back to my house. This was supposed to take 2 weeks. A month later, they call me and tell me they aren't going to get a new screen for my laptop because its on back order with no restock date. So they say they will refund me for my original purchase price of the computer. They do that, but then I have no more protection plan. I only used 8 months of the 3 year protection plan and they wouldn't give me anything back for the 2 years and 4 months I still had. That was $259 for 3 years and I get none of that back. And best of all, the laptop I got 8 months ago was on sale, so if I wanted to get the same computer with the refunded money, it would have been a $150 up-charge, with no protection plan! I would have had to pay another $259 for another 3 years!! I am doing just fine now with my non-protected up-charged laptop. Just don't get this plan if you think they will fix or protect your laptop, because they won't.

This is the second item that I've paid over $200 for a 3 year warranty purchased from Best Buy. The first was a TV, they kept it 40 days, returned it saying it was fixed. 2 weeks later I threw it in the dumpster. Now I have a laptop that they say will be 30 - 60 days. I took this to an independent repair shop. The motherboard is fried. Called Best Buy again, still getting the 30+ day run around. This is a laptop I use daily for business. DO NOT pay for the warranty, it's crap. I purchased my daughter's laptop from Office Depot. She broke the screen. Took it in and they said, yep, the screen is busted go get another on. I'll never purchase anything from Best Buy again.

i'm an Apple user, thought there would be less confusion buying/using a different type of laptop.... but it was a necessity for the software.... if this is also my support program, its wonderful!!! if not, a protection plan always benefits me... i'm hard on my devices...
