    What they don't tell you when you purchase the 3-year protection plan is that it takes on average 5 weeks (what the Geek Squad agent told me) to complete the repair. They have to ship the device out to their central repair processing center. When I think about it, I paid $320 for this service two years ago, which from a time value of money perspective is not that different from the amount I'd have to pay right now to a third-party repair business to replace my cracked laptop screen. The only difference is that the third-party repair guy would fix my laptop much faster than the 5 weeks offered by Geek Squad! This protection plan is worthless.

    Still pending repair or store credit under accidental coverage for dropped laptop that I have handled with Best Buy for over a month now. Between appts , drop off, phone calls ect... Can anyone help me? Last associate told me it is escalted . Repair dept. sent notice but did not know about extended warranty .
