    For years I have solely bought computers for myself and my family at Best Buy (well over a dozen) thinking I was purchasing good support. I have always purchased the extended warranty because I thought for $330 I was getting good protection. I just used it for the first time and now understand how little they will do for a longstanding customer. My computer did an update and got stuck. They did a diagnostic and said nothing is wrong with the hardware - goodbye. It is up to me to figure out how to get it going again. Wow! Not only will I never buy another warranty from Best Buy, but I will never buy another product from Best Buy. My illusion of the service the provide is gone.

      Hi there. Thank you for reaching out about this. I'm sorry to hear about this misunderstanding and loss in communication. The Geek Squad Protection that is purchased with the computer is only meant for the hardware on the device. For example, if the hard drive went out, you dropped it on the ground and the screen cracked, you spilled water on it, etc. It'll cover the repairs or replacement of the device in that sense. For the support side in this case with a failed update, it only really allows us to do that diagnostic. I really hope this made sense and provided some insight. Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding. If you would still like help, we can do that but we may need to explore support options.
