Wouldn't buy Geek Squad protection again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were disappointed to find out it didn't cover a lot of things. You have to pay a diagnostic fee to see what is wrong and if it is covered. Even if it IS something that falls under the protection plan, you still have to pay for the diagnostics. Sad! Did a good and quick job with repairs, but wouldn't spend the extra money on this again. I could buy a brand new computer for the cost of the plan plus the diagnostics. Maybe if it was a more expensive unit, it would be different.

haven't used but always good to have just in case

Accidental Protection Plan Limitations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have not used the Accidental Protection. Needed Geek Squad assistance once since buying the Protection Plan; but the assistance needed was not covered by the Plan. The Plan has not benefitted me to date.

Smart choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bestbuy has the best warranty, I always purchase a warranty for a piece of mind, it's simply just worth it, they'll replace if something happens directly. You don't have to contact the manufacturer.

Be smart about your buy

I recommend hire more workers to get more training

But when I brought it into the store they fixed very easily. The tech support over the phone it seems needs more training

Poor Customer Service and Excessive Time Delays
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dropped my laptop off at my local Best Buy location after I had dropped my device for a simple screen replacement. At the time, I was told that my device would be repaired and returned to me within 10 days. This was not the case however. One month after dropping off my laptop at Geek Squad repair services and many frustrating phone calls, I was told that my device was not able to be repaired. Best Buy provided me with a new laptop to replace my previous laptop but told me that my warranty was then voided and told me that if I wanted a new warranty, then I would have to purchase one at full price. Overall, this was a frustrating experience given that my device needed only a simple screen replacement. I would not recommend this service to others.

I'm sorry to hear that your repair services took longer than expected. It's difficult to go without a critical piece of tech, and I apologize for the inconvenience that this caused you.
We expect our Agents to follow the Terms & Conditions of your Geek Squad Protection Plan (https://goo.gl/cDfRu9). While I can't be certain without reviewing your Service Order, it sounds like it is possible that the parts required to complete your repair were not available. Per the Terms & Conditions of your plan, this would entitle you to an exchange for similar technology or store credit to apply towards a new purchase. My understanding is that it is correct that this would fulfill your plan, which would mean that you would need to purchase a new plan to have protection on the new device. I'm sorry for any confusion that occurred during your service, and if the Terms & Conditions of your plan were not made clear to you earlier.

Horrible Laptops

I never opened until it was too late to return and when I did it wouldn’t keep a charge’ I then took it back to BEST BUY and they made like the battery was good’ I then decided to use it and plugged it in to charge once again cause even when it’s completely off the battery doesn’t keep charge! This time I plugged it in for almost 5 hrs and it never charged up! I hate that I brought it from Best Buy I always had trouble out of their laptops but I listened to my Nephew and brought it and I regret it!!!!

GEEK Squad

The first person could not help, and they connected me to someone else. Even though I purchased the protection they wanted to charge Another $39,00 to help me connect.

Not happy this time

I have typically always purchased a Geek Squad warranty in the past & been happy. It’s just for some reason this time, I have had to return my laptop twice in a row after turning it in gor original repair in July 19, 2022. Both times it came back with a different issue that I didn’t have before and I have to send it back. It is now September. So frustrating!! Not happy!
