Not a warranty it’s Monopoly Money

I literally made a recent purchased an HP laptop and figured that I would be covered for software/hardware unforeseen warehouse issues. I made the purchase 9/6/21 for classes. I literally downloaded zoom and windows and the microphone is faulty after multiple updates. Following bringing the device in store I was told I would have to pay an additional $200+ to fix a possible software issue that may require a hard reset which may/may not work. Really!?! I just purchased this device, paid for a warranty and y’all want more money? What in the world is the so-called warranty for. That said, this is the 3rd computer I’ve purchased from BB Clw, other 2 devices no issues. No manager support or customer loyalty. Warranty is as good as monopoly money.

What's the point?

Unfortunately I was not and now may have to pay out of pocket for technical issues with the computer I bought the service plan for in the first place.

Total SCAM!!!

My laptop broke, Geek Squad service failed to fix it, Best Buy refused to provide same model replacement, because it cost more now. I was issued the discounted price of the laptop back to store credit, that is not enough to buy same laptop in Best Buy now, and I lost $200 that I paid for 3 years of Geek Squad service!

Not really that necessary

If you take care of your electronics and know that you won’t break it in any accidental way, don’t let them convince you with their whole “better safe that sorry” talk. If you’re worried about any long term defects down the road, register the manufacturer warranty. Only buy it if you know you are prone to breaking your electronics and don’t take proper care of it at all.

Service needs improvement

They fixed one problem but created another problem when I could not cut & pace. I had to use this service again. Point being. They should check their work before returning the device as fixed.

Wste of money

We live in a remote area and the closest best buy is 3 hours away. One of the hinges broke on the chromebook and I was told the only way it could be fixed is if I bring it to the store. I bought it online because I do not live near a store. So basically I bought 3 warrantys totalling a little over 130 dollars and they do me no good unless I drive 6 hours round trip to drop of the chrome book. Biggest joke ever will never shop best buy again.
