Piece of GARBAGE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, the laptop was fantastic to start. It played the games I wanted, I was never rough with it. It lived in its travel case when not in use. Lots of padding and protection and never dropped. 6 months after buying it, my wife and I are sitting in the living room watching movies on it. Put it away and go to bed and the next day it bricks itself. I have device insurance. I spent 2700$ on the model I have with 64gb ram. It initially got stuck in a BIOS loop trying to auto update. Let it run and it keeps restarting. Finally it just goes full black screen, no post, nothing. Just those pretty RGB keyboard and case lights. Take it to a repair shop because again, device protection. Brand new laptop. They tell me it's so new they cant even get the replacement part. Which is the motherboard. Thats right, the motherboard up and ate itself. Currently in the process of replace or reimbursement through device protection. Ill take the reimbursement. I dont need this headache in my life. I certainly dont want another laptop that randomly eats its own motherboard. To recap. I treated this thing with kids gloves for the time I owned it. I didnt mess with any settings in the bios or add more RAM or mess with the guts. The thing just went kaput.

Excellent Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is everything that I expected. The screen is crystal clear just as everyone rants about so I was very pleased with that. It takes a few minutes to get accustomed to the function keys setup, but it's not a big deal as every laptop has it's own characteristics. When turning the brightness up or down on the keyboard you can't see the changes until you release the function key FYI. It's blazing fast and best of all it's future proof due to the RAM and memory being upgrade-able. I got rid of a Macbook Pro 16 for this machine and I don't regret it one bit.

Worth paying for.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great service. Definitely worth the money. My ipad screen broke. I brought it in, but they didnt have the same one. It worked out though, cause i recieved a free upgrade to a better one! The same thing happened with my TV. The screen malfunctioned and since they couldnt fix it, i recieved a gift card for the price i paid for it almost a year later.

Best laptop I’ve had yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had everything from Acer netbooks back in the day all the way to MacBook Pros and I have to say this is the most well-balanced most efficient laptop I’ve ever had. It might not be perfect, but closest thing I’ve had yet.

It's just a great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Soft keyboard, not heavy, speed is excellent. Also the amount of memory is a direct joy, it's really great. And of course the price of the product is undeniably delightful. I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely be shopping at Best Buy again.

Redefines, Powerful and light.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Laptop, Just better than any other gaming laptop I owned in the past, from Alienware to Razer. Maybe the only downfall is the keyboard lighting, the keyboard is incredible with a deep satisfying click. Ultra powerful and ultra portable. and great battery life, anywhere from 8 to 11 hrs of screen on time. Beyond the capabilities of any gaming laptop I've used before, especially in the small form factor. The G14 just weights about 3.5 lb. Very happy with purchase. Best laptop of 2020.

Ridiculous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cracked screen took 3 weeks to send out and get repaired. Came back and then wifi didn't work. Turns out they damaged the wifi card and antennae when replacing the screen. Will have to send off to repair. They suggested we buy a wifi extender and it would work for now then we can send it out after College semester is over, but then 2 days later, laptop crashed with fatal error. They have to send it off again OR for $190 I can buy some other service and Geek Squad can fix in house. !!!!! SCAM!!!! Avoid!!!

Exceded my expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really happy that I ordered a laptop from Best Buy rather than Amazon. I have ordered 8 laptops and 3 Chromebooks from them since 2007. My last Chromebook died the day after I got it. Best Buy also has free 2 day shipping whereas you have to pay for Amazon Prime. I am officially boycotting Amazon. I'm sure Best Buy wouldn't send me three refurbished Chromebooks when I ordered them as new.

Totally Worth It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've gone in for assistance from the Geek Squad for both my laptop (Best Buy purchase) and iPhone (outside purchase( on a number of occasions. Love the 2 day shipping. Also got enhanced assistance to replace a laptop recently, which was key. The peace of mind alone is great to have, and the cost is reasonable given the coverage window.

From someone who's used this service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've used geek squads service before for a bad CMOS battery. I'm going to give a little bit of background about myself before explaining what happened. I'm a PC hardware enthusiast. I'm up to date with the newest technologies and build my own desktop computers. This happened to me a couple years ago and after this happened, I have completely disassembled and reassembled this computer 2 times, so I have a good idea of the complexity of the job they performed. I had this service for my dell inspiron 15. I bought it because I thought the geek squad could do basic repairs and would cover my PC if it broke. Well about a year after purchasing my PC, the CMOS battery died which caused the PC to give a beep code on startup. I was afraid of voiding the warranty by opening my PC up to replace the watch battery that powers the clock on the motherboard. sometimes there are warranty voiding stickers that are hidden under screws or between panels. ( after this event during my rebuilds I notitced that the CMOS battery is located in an increadibly easily accessed spot. it requires the removal of one screw and prying off one pannel. after that you use a screw driver or your hand to remove and replace the battery. after that you place the panel back on and put the screw back in). They told me they'd look at it and run diagnostics on it, so I handed it over and waited in the store until their diagnostics finished. When they handed it back to me the computer no longer booted. I assumed that the motherboard must have been damaged and finally coincidentally broke while they were working on it. They offered to send it to their repair facility which I agreed to. I thought a motherboard replacement would be pretty simple and I wouldn't lose any data since the motherboard doesn't store data. So I waited two weeks to have my computer repaired. it wasn't optimal to be without my computer, but I was able to make due. When my PC was returned to me after being fixed, the paper slip in the box said the problem was the CMOS battery. So I figured that they must not have plugged everything back in properly at the store after the diagnostics. For people who work on computers all day, disassembling and reassembling a dell inspiron 15 should be no problem at all and the CMOS battery replacement should be even easier than that. It has a very well designed and easy to repair internal layout. But I'll let that slide. sure a CMOS battery should have been able to be swapped in the store, but in my case I could make due without my laptop for a 2 weeks because I have a primary desktop computer. Well I open my computer to find that they factory reset it, so I lost all my programs. my files were still in tact, but because they factory reset it my programs no longer worked. Also my computer was very sluggish and took way longer than it should to load or do anything. I had to then factory reset it again, which resolved the sluggish issue that was caused by the geek squad. Well, I am an engineering major, so my programs are quite expensive and calling companies to get new license keys can be a hassle. also if a company decided not to give me a new license key, I could be looking at paying 1000's of dollars for a new copy of the program. I'm dissapointed in the service because they did not know what they were doing. 300 dollars is a lot of money to spend on a warranty plan, but in my experience it was not worth it. even for a very basic repair, they did not do it right. they never should have logged into my computer after replacing my CMOS battery. After it was fixed they should have sent it back to me without factory resetting it. There is a part I haven't mentioned yet. before I received my computer they called me trying to sell me a new windows operating system. This just doesn't make since for 2 reasons. there was nothing wrong with my operating system before I sent it to them. I would have noticed that. Also if there was something wrong with it, I would be better off buying a restore disk from dell for less than 20 dollars rather than buying a 150 dollar windows licence from them. Which leads me to my final and most important gripe with the geek squad. They seem to be more interested in selling you products than fixing your computer. I don't really want to pay 300 dollars for a service that will try to trick me into spending money on products or services I don't need.

Posted .Hello Noah – Thanks very much for sharing your story with us. I apologize for the bad experience you had with your recent service. We should always be up front with our customers that any time we work on a computer there is a chance that it will need to be reset, and that there is a chance of data loss. That’s why we have language indicating that on all of our service orders. I’m sorry if there was miscommunication around that. We really appreciate your feedback on this, and hope you’ll give us another chance in the future. I’m confident we’ll provide you with superior service when you so.

Poor experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't get it. Most laptop's break right after the manufactre warranty and unless you are very prone to dropping it. It cost $85 just for the team to tell me the screen was broken, something I already knew, and then proceed to tell me that since it had been 1-year and 5 months that I would have to spend $1000, 2/3 the price of the laptop, to get it fixed. A complete waste of $230.

Geek Squad happily replaced my device!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer in 2020 and I’ve only had a single flaw with this laptop: the buttons on the button come out after awhile. This is where I reached out to GeekSquad, after confirming my files were synced, my laptop was easily replaced with a new one. I enjoyed this service.
