    Given the mixed reviews of an HP laptop, I decided to include this for piece of mind. It is possible that it will expire before I'd need to use it. However, the laptop is not cheap - upper middle of the road in terms of price. The reviews were mixed with good and bad but mostly good. So far, this protection hasn't been used, which is good news! Because of Best Buy's price match program, the laptop price was adjusted and so was the Geek Squad protection price.

    I haven't needed the Geek squad yet but I know from past experience that they know what they are doing and do it well and fast. I had an issue with a hard drive in the past. I thought my data was lost forever but they didn't give up and I got back my precious pictures. I'm so grateful.

    Definitely recommend to buy the Protection! Worth every penny. My laptop was damaged and all I had to do was pick out a replacement. Of course I had to go through the process of them “trying” to fix it first - and even that would have cost extra without the plan. I always buy the protection plan on high priced items. It’s the main reason I shop Best Buy!

    Glad we bought it. Had issue with Labtop recognizing USB plug. Carried to best but. She got to it immediately and was ready to go on under 10 min. Very satisfied. My daughter uses this in college so being able to go to any best but for service is great.

    I can't really speak to the actual fulfillment of the service, however I can say that the peace of mind that comes from having a protection plan (on something that I could not afford to buy a replacement for) is absolutely worth it's cost if the item is important. There's my rant.

    This is a must for anything you carry around with you, if something happens to it besides it getting lost you bring it in to the geek squad and they take care of everything, I havn't had to use their services in a bit but its nice to know that they are there if anything happens to my laptop

    Good to know I have this extended warranty. I couldn't get the extended warranty offered by Asus on the laptop I bought from Bestbuy. Asus excludes laptops sold by Bestbuy from it's extended warranty program; which can be the same length and approximately $200 less.

    I have had to have my computer in to remove viruses. They were able remove them within a few days at the local store, without having to send it to the manufacturer. Enjoy having that safety net in case I run into a major issue during my busy times of the year.

    Why does the warranty start on day 1 instead of the day the manufacturer warranty expires? Doesn't make sense. For this chromebook it has a one year warranty, so Geek Squad warranty should start on day 366. That'd be common sense. Based on previous experience with this protection on a different Lenovo Chromebook, I hope this one protects me better than that time. When I bought it previously, the BB employee told me that if I have any issues with it that they'd very likely just replace it when I brought it in (said that manufacturer won't do that but we will). Yeah they don't, they sent it in and it took a while to come back. That's fine but it didn't last long before it broke again and by then the warranty was up. The issue was a bad keyboard sticking on top row. I treat my technology very well, not around kids, so I think it just wasn't fixed well the first time or had inferior parts. I bought it again for this Chromebook because I needed some coverage in case something happened sooner than later but time will tell.

    Geek Squad Protection is the best. If you have a damaged product they either send it for repair or they let you exchange the product. Definitely a great investment in case something is damaged. Only thing I say is that you have to buy another protection plan if you go to geek squad once.

    Lots of waiting to use it when you need it

    Worth it for major repairs but if you need something minor that would be covered it's a bit inconvenient. You have to schedule appointments weeks out to even see them for something minor then they need to hold onto your device because there's no way to pre-coordinate the parts you need with the experts before you see them. The extended waits to schedule, then for them to order parts you could of figured out at the start together makes it easier for their employees but at the expensive of the customer. Example: Laptop I purchased needed a new W key and I wanted to make sure the store had the part when I showed up because I can put the thing on myself and it would of been covered by this plan but I ended up just ordering one myself online because it was two weeks to before I could see someone at a store and they refused to talk to me about parts or the issue prior to that meeting. Then at the store I would of had to wait for them to order the specific part after waiting two weeks to see them.

    Apple products aren’t cheap to begin with, and if an accident happens sometimes the cost to repair can be up there with the cost of the item. Paying $40 to protect my Apple product for a year is a win-win

    I have had geek squad protection with all my laptops for the past 15 years. They always repair it when it breaks (though it can take a few weeks sometimes). If they can't or it has broken to many times like my last laptop they give you the amount you purchased it for to go towards your next one.

    I’ve only had to use this once, because a key was missing off a chrome book. They took it and shipped it off and replaced the whole keyboard and shipped it back to the store. I just had to go a few days without the Chrome book.

    The extended warranty and service offered by Bestbuy has saved me on more than one occasion. If it can’t be fixed, you get a replacement or your money back.
