    Dont have it installed by BestBuy, they dont know how to do it. Had to get it rewired and properly installed by a Pro.

    Leave it to Google to roll out some half-baked updates and ruin a perfectly good system. I've had three of these cameras for years and never had a problem until Google strong-armed users to migrate their Nest accounts. Now I can't view the cameras on any of my three Apple TVs with the Nest apps on them. Additionally, since migrating, I am having to sign in to the app on my computer/phone/ipad almost daily. When you use the camera's as baby/child monitors, it's not helpful to have to login in every time you want to check to see what's happening on the camera. It would be understandable if this was a temporary issue that was quickly resolved, but Google has let the issue persist for 8-9 months now so that the cameras are laregely useless to those who monitor on their TVs.

    I would suggest skipping the warranty and saving your money. I have set up multiple meetings at my house where I took off work to meet these guys, one time the guy just said I lived too far and wouldn't come. one was arguing with me on the phone because he did not want to do his job, he kept asking me to do things over the phone so he didn't have to come out. they also did not count that as one of the 3 attempts to rectify the situation. I did have one solid tech come out but he didn't answer on the follow up. it's been years now and I'm Just tired of trying to get my situation rectified I feel like Best buy just took my money and did not honor the warranty. I will never purchase a warranty through them again.

    Tri-Band Router with only 2 functional Bands

    I put a lot of research into purchasing what would be the best router for my family. It led me to this router and it's "possibilities". Upon arrival, I excitedly set it up and made sure everything was operational. I currently have 300Mbps through Comcast Xfinity and am planning on upgrading to 1Gbps soon. With my Speedtest, I noticed that my speeds came in at 100 Mbps on 2.4 Ghz, 300 Mbps on 5G (1) and 30-50 Mbps on 5G (2). I am a complete tech nerd and spent hours adjusting, resetting and doing everything imaginable to figure out what is wrong with my 2.4 Ghz Band and 5 Ghz (2) band. At this point, I have a 5G Band that works as advertised, one 2.4G band that is slow with low signal strength and one 5G band that is comparable to AT&T dial up. I've contacted Best Buy Customer Service twice. Twice they hung up on me, before even talking to a real person (the computerized voice actually stated "Good bye" during transfer) and I just had a 5 minute discussion with someone who didn't even let me finish explaining the issue, before transferring me to "Technical Support" that I don't need. I informed him that I need to request an exchange...and he just shut my call off. Beyond disgusted with Best Buy and how they are handling this situation.

    Doesn't Work!

    Signing up for Utopia Fiber they said they we needed to have a router to plug in to the Utopia modem. We asked my IT guy at work and he recommended the Nighthawk. However, when Utopia installed the modem, they just looked at the router and said, “yup, that should work,” and then left. We plugged it in, went through set up and nothing worked. We called Netzero, and spent 2 hours on an extremely frustrating phone call of literally doing the same thing over and over again with some guy with a broken accent and a crappy headset until he finally told us to take it back to BestBuy and exchange it for a new one. I took it back to BestBuy, but they were not out of stock, but shipped us a new one. The lady at the counter even said, "Yeah, I was recommended this one as well and it randomly doesn't work all the time." Plugged it in, set it up, and it didn’t work either. So, I called Utopia figuring it must be a bad modem. They, of course, denied any accountability even though they installed it and told me to call the internet provider we signed up with. We called them, within 2 minutes more than in the two-hour phone call with Netgear. The modem is fine, the Nighthawk, however, is a piece of crap. We’re sending the Nighthawk back for a refund and am using the router provided by our internet provider, which they never told us was an option.

    No help. Best Buy takes your money and when you need help they charge you again for need help. Despite the fact that I bought a warranty and service repair and replacement so I could get help and replacement later. Their Greek Squad is the same way. No help when you need it unless you pay for the service, despite paying for service coverage upfront.

    SOOOO Slow

    I have one computer in the house that doesn't like the WiFi. We play a lot of games so I bought this to help drop the ping rate and have a more stable connection. This is so very NOT for gaming. At best the ping rate from the computer to the router, not even leaving the house is a few hundred ms. It's nice to not have to drill holes through walls but for actual performance it's a dog.

    Dead in 8 months; Warranty is only 90 days!

    Netgear advertises a one year warranty on this product. This is false. The warranty is actually only 90 days. After that, you can buy support that will increase the warranty period to a year. But, if you don't, they won't talk to you at all about their defective product. What they really mean is that you can purchase a one year warranty. This product was confirmed dead by my ISP technician who did full trouble-shooting including a hard reset. I would never buy any Netgear product again!

    Many Headaches to come along with this router

    I already gave up on it, you spend this much money on a router and it cut my speed in half, just google this router and see all the issues people have to solve with it, for some reason it throttles your connection. The WiFi and wired connections where extremely fast then boom it would happen, tried to factory reset it a couple times, then it would happen again. I will be returning this paper weight, but on a good note Best Buy was great and the product made it to my house the next day after ordering it.

    Got couple of nest cameras, tried to contact geek squad for 3 days after i made the reservation for installation, or I would get hang on or they would transfer me to the wrong dept after I got an email saying to reschedule it since they cancelled. Finally was able to talk to somebody and they wanted to schedule it again almost a week from the date I purchased it....I cancelled and won't buy anything else again from best buy and or use geek squad services.

    Beware: Not as Pictured

    Apparently the design changed significantly in 2018. The ethernet ports are now on the front (opposite the power connection, which makes it unusable for my application. BestBuy pictures still show the old version with the ethernetports on the back (same as the power connections) Will be returning it for refund.

    Geek Squad Protection Misleads

    Please make sure you read the fine print before a sales rep convinces you to add GSP on your item. There are different types that cover different products. You might think an item can be replaced as stated on the website but that is not true as stated by geek squad employee at my local store. My Sony uhd player that has protection will not be replaced but instead taken in by staff to try and fix it. That means I still have to go back and waste my valuable time to pick it up again for a product under $300. Beware of your protection plans as salesmen and women from best buy don’t tell you everything of what GSP really covers.

    When this works it is great but when it doesn't (which is a little too often) it is frustrating. I have used netgear for years and am very unhappy with this item

    I have been to the store and was told that there were no parts for my device and that I would need to contact the geek squad number for help. Now I'm on the phone for about an hour and a half now, transferred 6 times and counting. No one is helping and customer service is the WORST Ive ever experienced. None of the reps are taking accountability or responsibility. This has been a total waste of my time and money. I would not purchase again.
