This I bought for myself. I'm handicapped and my vision is poor. I tell everyone I'm the most electronically challenged person on earth. I figured it would be in my best interest to get protection in case something goes wrong with my new laptop!!

Great machine. It completely broke the day I bought it. But I got it on an “open box special” for like $300 so I wasn’t mad. The warranty completely fixed the machine and it has worked great since. I got it for my parents. They love it. It is lightning fast. Although they only use it for light browsing and email and printing documents.

Fortunately, I never had to use it, but I did use it on a cell phone, earlier in the year. Seamless. Also, just having the peace of mind, in case of accidents/clumsiness, is well worth it. Also, even though my credit cards offer similar protection, I feel much more comfortable dealing with the Geek Squad, in person. Side note: at least in the store that I shop at, they are knowledgeable, helpful, and personable

I have a toddler and two teenagers so protection plans are a MUST! I have had 2 computers that have either had juice spilled on them or have been stepped on (I know…why was it on the floor?) Took them directly to Geek Squad. No out of pocket cost and if they couldn’t fix it then you get a store credit for the amount you purchased it for. The prices of the protection plans vary based on the type of computer but it’s worth it!

Good service for setting up my TV a couple of years ago but to expensive for me as I onlyvused it one time after that for setting up my printer. The membership only knocks off a small percentage for services which doesn't justify the $200 a year fee. I would have saved more by just paying the full price. Also when I tried to set up appointment for my printer set up by phone I was on hold for 45 minutes before I gave up.

Best Buy determined my laptop met the criteria for replacement, since it completely failed after about 4.5 months of use. However, these warranties are STORE CREDIT or REPLACEMENT ONLY. The terms — which aren’t well presented and are buried in 500+ Q&A entries or an obscure online PDF — show that they do not do cash reimbursement. This is disingenuous. When you’re buying the warranty, the product page proudly lists all the benefits, but never mentions that they don’t do cash or check reimbursement. Why hide that fact unless you don't want people to see it? And it gets worse. The warranty (depot) people tell you to talk to the store for anything even remotely related to replacement or reimbursement. When you talk to the store, they tell you that if you want any change in your warranty reimbursement or resolution, you need to talk to the depot. It’s absurd, anti-consumer, and dubious. At best. And here’s another one: if you call your local store number— you get the main call center. You have to press the right buttons in the automated menu to talk to the right person in the right department, who will then transfer you to the store. Yes, you are, in fact, meant to get the runaround. They just want you in THE STORE. I will tell everyone: do not buy anything that requires a warranty from Best Buy. Valuable products need warranties, and once you buy one from them, you’re trapped in their ecosystem and forced to keep doing business with them in the future. If you want a warranty for the replacement?? You’ll be right back on this page again.

I purchased the three-year Accidental Geek Squad protection for my new HP spectre laptop. I have not had the need for any repairs as of yet so I'm unable to know how well this will work. Unfortunately, in the three times that I've taken my laptop in, I found the local Geek Squad to be less than personable with interactions. Every service seems to have an additional charge and I completed the set up on my own. Several days later, I received an email inviting me to come in for assistance. When asking specific questions, I did not find Geek Squad members to be very knowledgeable. Truly a disappointment! I wonder if I should've gotten the insurance from HP directly but didn't know about this when I purchased my computer.

I have a new computer with an upgraded OS. The Geek Squad service has been a life saver in making sure my transition and learning curve went smoothly. They have helped me several times from installing new software, compatibility issues between devices, and just getting things running right! I think I will always have a total tech plan with them, it's like having your own personal IT consultant! Good job, Best Buy and Geek Squad!

Speed, capacity and color are awesome. Pretty light laptop.

We ALWAYS purchase an extended warranty on all of our electronics we purchase at Best Buy. Over the years we have had to use them a couple of times and the Geek Squad has been amazing! Always helpful! I highly recommend!

Looking to renew my plan hopefully I have the option to do so. I will review again once I find out.

The Geek Squad explained all of the available services to me for my devices and encourage me to call them anytime I need assistance. They even took my old Laptop and disposed of it properly. The other company failed me and had lost my Laptop. I was angry. Finally when they found it I brought it to the Geek Squad and they took great care of me professionally,

Great insurance if product is broken great to have it

Have not used the Geek Service Quad, but for the cost of the item it made sense to purchase. It’s a just in case purchase.
