Initially, my drive worked great. No issues at all transferring data. All of a sudden, the drive is not being recognized by my mac or ANY other device (have always only used it w my mac), and on the RARE occasions it DOES connect, it never actually mounts. best buy's geek squad says they cannot help me. purchase made May 2024, well within warranty.

What do you expect. Calculate how much it would be to replace your stuff. Some items are worth protecting (ie TVs, Computers, larger appliances), some are not (cheap headphones, remote controlls, lesser value items). If you don't want to pay for a new one within a couple of years, then buy the plan.

had HD replaced in laptop so obtained extended warranty to have peace of mind

Always great to have warranty just in case well worth the price

I feel safer having this protection, although I have not had to use it yet.
