I buy geek squad service plans for all of the items I get from Best Buy it's just a no-brainer. They are the best service plans offered anywhere.

Geek squad replacement plans are convenient and gives me a peace of mind knowing that if my product breaks I can get a new one for free or get it fixed

it is NOT reliable because it showed nothing in the finder window while it has 3gig. when I click to get info on my mac it showed that has the 3 gigs taken however the content are nowhere to be seen. so I have to unplug and replug and the problem persists. this happened while I have other external drives plug and never had such a weird experience. I contacted their support they are lousy and slow and unhelpful. so It is not recommended. I will return it because my data is matters and the backup supposes to be the safe house, not a flake house, and that clearly what is WD is.

When you buy something from Best buy, you can get a Warranty replacement. So try the Greek Squad Warranty. It's real cheap!

Always a good idea to get this. It is not like other stores, I have never had any issues with the warranty at Best Buy like I have at other retailers.
