I always recommend buying the Geek Squad protection plan. As long as you have a plan, you are more likely to be able to replace a product should a problem arise. Definitely recommend this.

I always buy the protection plans thru Best Buy. Never had any issues returning and them replacing a item. I actual ran over my ear buds the they were replaced.

You never know when stiuff is gonna go wrong If I remember correctly it covers the dock the switch itself and and replacement of the controllers. All covered for replacement at least once. even on accidental drops and spills. so pretty darn good deal.
