I like to purchase "Geek Squad" protection for the rare occurrence of a device failure.

I've gotten geek squad coverage on my laptops in the past and they were worth it. For the Nintendo Switch, it's worth the investment if you plan on using it as a portable device. If it'll stay at home and in it's dock you should be fine without it.
