I rarely buy the protection plan, but I've done it from time to time. I decided to purchase it for my new PlayStation 5 because I'd seen some reviews online of the PS5's fans going off like crazy. I bought the protection from Geek Squad b/c in the past when I've purchased it and actually used it, they're fantastic about the return and replacement. No hassles. They stand behind it 100%. So while you may not ever need it, it comes in handy when you do.

I buy a geek squad protection plan on amy major purchase that i can. I have only had to use them a few times but was very happy i had the plan every time.
