    The Geek Squad service offers peace of mind for accidental replacement should it be necessary. Personally, there are some items I wouldn't need it on with my technical expertise, but for a mobile headset that my family will use from time to time, I felt it was necessary.

    Replacement Protection is worth it

    We had replacement protection on an Oculus Quest we got for our son for Christmas 2019. The headband broke in March, and it required complete replacement of the entire unit with a new one. This timing was horrible, as there wasn't an Oculus Quest to be found this side of the Pacific Ocean. But, eventually, a replacement unit was shipped. I purchased a replacement protection plan for the new Oculus Quest.

    This is now my third Meta Quest 3 due to ongoing controller issues not properly functioning with the device. Because of this, I’ve been forced to purchase three separate warranties, which feels completely unnecessary. When you buy a warranty, it should cover the product for the stated period—in this case, two years. I should not lose warranty coverage simply because the device itself was defective and had to be replaced. That was not my choice. The store was unable to fix the issue, so replacement was the only option. Defective hardware is a manufacturer and storage issue, not a customer issue. On top of that, I originally had two 256GB devices, and my replacement is now only 128GB because the larger storage option was out of stock. Downgrading storage on a replacement device is unacceptable, especially when the replacement is due to repeated defects. Overall, the Quest 3 itself is great when it works, but the controller reliability, replacement process, and warranty handling have been extremely frustrating. Customers should not be penalized for defective products or forced into buying multiple warranties for the same device.

    This has been the best Quest 3.Better camera view and better video quality. I also want to take a moment to say that Union City customer service was amazing. I love the service they always provide that is why I love coming here.
