I'm very satisfied with the puchase of the product replacement insurance. I haven't had any issues with the fitness tracker itself other than the part to keep the wrist band secured broke. Went in to see if it could be repaired....got a totally new tracker!

    Perfectly Adequate Timepiece

I replaced a Fitbit Blaze with this product after the Fitbit battery began to fail. Love the look of this watch. I liked ( and still like ) the user interface. Rotating the dial is quick and intuitive enough that you figure it out quickly. There are a respectable number of nice looking watch faces available. As a timepiece, I'd give it two thumbs up. The praise drops off after that I'm afraid. Battery life is disappointing at best and in my case, dropped off to down right unacceptable after only 5 months. Samsung was good about getting the battery replaced. They did that in much less time than they specified. I think it was out for repair for less than a week. I think that is pretty good anymore. We've heard of or experienced service that took way longer than estimated. I'd give Samsung good marks for their service and quick response. Back to the S3 as a product. As a fitness tracker, it was disappointing. It counted steps well enough, no particular complaints there. I wore my Samsung and my old Fitbit at the same time on a long walk, and they were within a few percent of the same count. The heart rate monitor was a battery hog, and I ended up following on-line advice and just turned it off. But...doesn't turning it off defeat the purpose of a fitness tracker. Heart rate was not important to me, so I did not particularly miss it. To others, it may be a deal-breaker. The Samsung was horrible at counting stairs. The 4 months I owned it stair counts were often zero. The real eye-opener was walking up a mountain trail at Rocky Mountain National Park. My wife's Fitbit counted well over 100 flights of stairs climbed, the Samsung...12 flights of stairs. No joke, it said I climbed 12 flights of stairs. This was a constant source of irritation and to me, and a real failure of the product itself. Even with the replacement battery I was finding myself charging it overnight, and then again in the early afternoon. Of course if its on the charge overnight, it can't do any sleep tracking either. Sleep tracking was another thing that seemed underdeveloped on the product. Not near as much information on the S3 as the Fitbit. In the end, I decided to return it. Too many compromises. Too many feature didn't work well...or at all. Battery life was unacceptable. All of this is too bad, because it is still a great looking product with a slick user interface. I just can't recommend it. Others have had better luck with this product. Maybe you will too. Don't expect too much if you are coming over from a Fitbit or a Garmin.
