I try buying warranties on products I purchased because you never know when something might happen after the manufacturers warranty expires.

Always get protection for your investment. Hard drives are known to go bad. 2 years of geek squad protection gives me piece of mind.

This is the second time, that I am disappointed with the geek squad service. I went to the store, after speaking to a member from the geek squad to pick up my new computer. They did not inform me I had to sign up for a number to be serviced. I arrived and waiting around as my representative, ignored me too busy with another customer. It was late in the evening. Another customer walked in and after I had waited for approx. 30 mins on line, he took the customer that had just arrived before me because he had a number and I did not. This was very upsetting, I was not informed of this process and it was getting later. I had my child with me, she was restless, it was a school night, and I expected to have been serviced as I came in because I spoke with the representative, he did not say you will have to wait, or you should take a number so we can service you correctly. When I interupted him to ask him what was happening, he was even ruder than ignorning me. I was even more upset and cancelled my purchase.

If you're gonig to buy the mousepad then get the geek squad because they will replace it if there is something defective on it.
