Slow buffering, pixelated viewing 50% of the time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Firestick allows backward compatible TVs to continue using Prime Video even though Amazon may not continue support of the brand or specific TV model. However, even with a 1G internet service like I have, the Firestick has problems keeping up with the streaming. Many times it takes over 60 seconds for the buffering to "catch up" or the Firestick just stops working. This requires a complete Prime Video restart or complete TV turn off and turning back on. Another issue is pixelated viewing. 40-50% of the time the video quality is severely reduced resulting in major pixelation breakdown of the video. It takes anywhere from 30-60 seconds for the Firestick to again "catch up" for the video details to return. If you're willing to put up with these annoyances on a very regular basis, then buy the Firestick. I don't have any of these problems with my new Samsung smart TV that doesn't require the Firestick. This Firestick is the 3rd Gen with Alexa. I don't know if there's a more updated version or not.

Does NOT really protect you for the time you think

When I opened it up it looked fine, but when I plugged it in, it had wild colors on the screen. Apparently the internal LCD had cracked in shipment. The squad came out and looked at it and decided it was best to give me a replacement instead of fixing it. That is fine, but they told me that I no longer could get the new TV covered. That is, in the fine print it states that once they give you a replacement, the Geek Squad coverage ends. That should be changed. It is not fair to charge you for 2 years of coverage and end it way before the 2 years is up just because it was damaged in shipping. So your 2 years of coverage isn't really 2 years unless you don't ever use it.

Called v-tech support and they advised me to return the phone because it would not work on a digital phone line. Line one said no line, line 2 was nothing but noise and we were unable to call out or accept calls.

Never again!

Once you got someone on the phone it would cut you off and disconnect, sooo frustrating! Plus when you sign up for service they don't tell you that they automatically sign you up for premium service which is almost 20 dollars a month. Save your money and your sanity and get a different service!

About 3 months ago August of 2023 I checked for updates and a few days later it died so I purchased the best Tablo that was for sale it had 2 tuners but it would lose signal not like the old Tablo. So I returned the duel light for a New one still the same so I pre ordered a 4 tuner Tablo from Best buy it worked great for 2 days till I put a 2t hard drive to it like the direction said then it went nuts now I have nothing!!! Also the first Tablo I had you could watch the Tablo while traveling you can't with the new Tablo one!!!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t buy from Best Buy. They are fine to buy from but getting it setup via magic Jack is impossible. I activated. It gave me a phone number. We could call. But when I tried to setup an account it said it didn’t have that phone number as an account. Then after making multiple calls it showed I needed to upgrade. All the calls were tech support. After getting hung up on multiple times even after getting transferred to tech support it hung up. The bot is difficult to get through to a person. I can’t speak low enough. And now I’m leaving my 92 year old mom without a landline. And her cellphone is iffy. So I’m returning as quickly as possible and go with another one the assisted living place suggested.

Don't do it

No Netflix, amazon, hulu, etc. I've been streaming alot of movies on fandangonow. My tv doesn't have bluetooth so I bought this so I could use my bluetooth headphones. Only movies that work are 4k movies and regular tv. I gave it 2 stars just because it works on tv and 4k movies.

Hurts the ears, head, and wallet for what you get
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got everything hooked up and running, but it took my receiver boosting the rear channels to +12 dB and crankong the volume knob on the wireless receiver all the way up before we could hear anything from the rear channels. Unfortunately, turning that knob even halfway up causes a god-awful high-pitch whine that hurt my ears and sent my cats into a scared huddle. On top of that, the reat left channel pops and emits static at random. Was really hoping this could work, but I guess it's just not meant for me.

Misleading capabilities on box

Very disappointed, i returned it.
