good to have the protection plan for the just in case things

I skimmed the reviews for this product and didn't read anything that prepared me for the shock and disappointment associated with this plan. First of all it is not Geek Squad. It is a company that Geek Squad and Best Buy have "sistered up with" whatever that means. I consider myself a relatively intelligent person. Even still I managed to miss the fine print. I purchased the plan for $200, under the assumption that my phone would be repaired or replaced for up to 3 occurrences per year, and after the third occurrence there may be a fee associated with repair or replacement. I Did not read that there is a charge of 150 to $200 per occurrence with a Max of 3 occurrences. You have to send them your phone and then they send you a refurbished phone. When I contacted the customer service department, which is not Best Buy or Geek Squad customer service, the recording stated very clearly the details of the replacement plan agreement. They went on to say this information was also disclosed at the final point of purchase when you picked up your item and is printed on the receipt (didn't read) As I stated earlier,I consider myself a relatively intelligent person. Unfortunately, not intelligent enough to have noticed the plan specifications on ANY of the 3 places mentioned in the recording. Didn't read the fine print. I was never given verbal explanation I was really disappointed because I purchase almost all of my electronics from Best Buy and I usually get the service protection plans. And up until the last year-and-a-half or so I have been very happy with the plans and services. I wish I could say the same now. If only I would have read the details of this plan. I certainly would have been more attentive had I known the contract I signed was with a 3rd party company. So basically it's a 1 time fee or small monthly payments + your damaged or defective phone + the service fee (Deductible) + tax AND shipping in exchange for a refurbished phone. You decide.....

Purchased the geek squad for my video game headphones.

Not exactly sure what coverage is provided by the plan as all that I experienced happened to fall out of scope. Fortunately the store I went to was able to replace the product because I had purchased the warranty.

Recommended for any Best buy device. Highly recommended.

This headset is great. I even use it for my phone.
