I purchased a TV with 5 years protection plan. After experiencing a problem, I contacted Best Buy, expecting support through the 5-year protection plan I purchased. To my surprise, they told me their protection doesn’t start until after the 1-year Samsung warranty ends, and refused to take responsibility. I then had to go through Samsung, who eventually admitted they couldn't fix the issue and ended up refunding me for the TV and taking it back. When I returned to Best Buy to get a refund for the protection plan (since the product was no longer with me), they said it was already "in use" and deducted money for the days that had passed, even though they never actually provided any service or support. they refused to give me support and pushed me to contact Samsung. Don’t trust Best Buy. They sell expensive products, and even if you purchase their protection plan, they’ll find a way to dodge responsibility. You're better off buying elsewhere.

I ALWAYS purchase Geek Squad protection. I haven't needed it for this purchase yet but when I did in the past i received excellent service!

Bought this for my 75 inch Samsung TV to have peace of mind if it breaks down.

Have not had to use this service yet, but I have heard great things from others who have, especially relatives and believe that if it is needed at some point Best Buy will stand and deliver!

Do yourself a favor, once you spend this amount of money on a product, go ahead and spend the extra little bit to get protection. I mean it lasts for five years! you don't get that kind of insurance anywhere else!

Have had no issues with geek squad, the very few times i have had to use them, they were very helpful.

so far i havent a need to use it but it give me a lot of piece of mind

I only bought the service plan. My last TV was hit by lighting, so i figured I should a service plan. Hope I never need it

The Geek guys did a great job installing the TV and setting it up. Guys are neat and work well to get the job done quixkly.

Never had a problem with Geek Squad or a Best Buy protection plan and have had problems with other companies "insurance" or "protection plans".

I purchased the protection for a TV I bought. I went in the store yesterday spoke with a manager. I made her aware of the situation. She told me the geek squad protection covers for power surges. I told her a power surge caused the TV and the room to catch on fire. I made her aware the TV was not repairable. She told me to bring the TV in it was covered. I brought the TV in today, spoke with a different manager that made me aware it wasn't covered. He stated the protection does cover for a power surge , but because of the shape the TV is in the can't return it. I am totally disappointed. I drove 30 minutes there wasting my time.

Excellent service, the geek squad has helped quite a bit. Quickly installed and set up my tv over my fireplace.

I purchased the geek squad protection plan just in case something goes wrong with my TV. You never know! And it's great knowing I have this protection even after the manufacturer's warranty runs out.
