Protection plan is not what it used to be. While it does offer appliance protection, you do have to run in circles to get resolution. I made 2 appmnts for my GE Profile icemaker without resolution. It took a third call to customer service and trip to try to get my appliance replaced. Service guy at the store ends up ordering the wrong appliance, so now 4th trip and 4th phone call- only resolution is to order it again ( ensure rep orders right one) and return the one I received incorrect. The nearest store is over 30 mins one way. No apologies or anything. Customer service reps are overseas- so brace yourselves for the language barrier.

We were forced to get additional protection on the new ice maker, as the TWO insignia brand ice makers we had before were trash and quit working.
