Senior citizen "must have"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I keep my Geek Squad Protection plan as an on going safety net for all of my electronic gear. At age 80, I have no interest in doing this kind of stuff on my own. It is really great to know that these guys are on the ball and know what they are doing, I have had to use the "plan" at least four times a year, and have been consistently by the thoughtful staff who have either over the phone, on line, or in the store have walked me through some technical problem AND solved the problem and gotten me back to work. As a "senior", I really appreciate the skill and courtesy of their staff.

Honesty in a World of Mediocrity! Worth the Cost!

With only six months left on the plan, the old TV started losing its connection to the internet and the menus began malfunctioning and didn't respond as intended. After attempting to repair the old TV without success, Geek Squad honored the plan and refunded every dime of the purchase price and also the plan price. How do you beat that? No wonder their Number ONE in customer service and support! Needless to say, I bought a new TV with a new five-years plan.

Sound bar replacement

Always Splurge on the 5-Year Geek Squad Protection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always splurge for the 5 year Best Buy Extended Warranty because I sleep better at night knowing that if I have any issue with any of my TV's that are 43 inches and up, which are all of them, that Geek Squad will come out to look at them and take care of any issue other that physical damage caused by neglect etc. Most people are unaware that a one year manufacture warranty means that after the 15,30 or 45th day that one is allowed to return an item for a refund or exchange means that you will be left to deal only with the TV manufacture. I equate that to being on a raft in the middle of the ocean.

Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

Extra protection never hurt

Geek squad delivered replacement tv for free.

Covered the black out screen that happened in the middle of a movie for no reason. Delivery drivers and support both said they are seeing this more and more. Sonin my opinion the cost for Geek Squad protection was well worth it! Did purchase a 5 year plan for new 65".

Limited Shipping areas
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mounted it by myself with help from a few friends as BestBuy doesn't deliver or come out to Eastern Oregon. Had to rent a trailer and fetch tv minus the fuel and time it took to retrieve my purchase.

GEEK SQUAD ROCKS!

They came in and did a same-day repair on my TV and it was up and running. When it started having issues again and eventually died on me, Best Buy set me up with a new model of the same TV! Came the next day and dropped it off along with recycling the old TV for me. Gave me piece of mind and save me a lot of money.

EASY to use and well worth the money

I needed to use the protection plan yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the representative was. He walked me through the entire process and told me that it was actually cheaper to send me a replacement TV. I highly recommend their protection plan and will buy it on any other large items.

Well Worth the price you pay

They could not find parts to repair either television so they simply reimburse me the full price I paid for the TV. What more could you ask for.

I bought this tv on sale last summer because the sound was going in and out on the old one. I was more than happy when I found this on massive sale!
