My TV was damaged during a recent move, and the damage wasn’t covered under my protection plan. So at this point the plan is useless. So I started the process of Canceling the remaining months of my plan. The representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable, kind and quick to help me. It was an easy painless experience. And now my partial refund is on its way! The money I get back will be put away to save up for a new tv.

It really isn't worth the extra money for the Geek Squad. The tv was so inexpensive that if it tears up, I'll just purchase another one.

Purchased this 5 year protection to ensure the use of this TV for 5 years. They are not made as well as decades ago.

Always have an extended warranty. All electric items always break around manufacture warranty which is unfortunate.

After having a relatively expensive receiver go bad a few years ago, the Geek Squad 5 yr Protection plan worked flawlessly ... I was so happy I had purchased it with the receiver. Since then, I have always purchased the Protection plan on the expensive items purchased, like home, auto, boat insurance, hoping to never have to use it, but when the bad things happen you are glad you have it. Not so expensive items I do not purchase protection plans for.

This protection program is invaluable. I think it's an absolute must when making an expensive purchase. I've used it quite a few times through the years and I've never had any problems.

You need to have it, and add it with your items, protection is key

The picture and sound are great (5 stars for those) but setup was a nightmare!! That began with a lack of clarity on how to install the two legs. I’m a retired science teacher with a BSEE from a prestigious school and also have an MBA and MEd. Plus I’ve written two novels. I had to call Sony support for help with setup since it was stuck on wanting the password for a neighbor’s WIFI even though I connected my Ethernet LAN cable. I’m good reading manuals but this one is terrible and essentially useless. Using the operating system is also horrendous!! Amazon Fire and ROKU are much simpler. Plus I’ll probably have to call Sony support again since I’ve switched my cable TV and ROKU (still using that for a while) inputs from my initial set up but can’t figure out how to change the input labels and some other associated input settings. No patience for any of this complicated nonsense and who knows what other troubles I’ll have to deal with as I learn how to use the OS. Oh well, the modern world. I still remember the time in the early 1980s when most people in the US were unable to figure out how to program VCRs. That was child-like compared to this stuff.
