    Glad I had the extended warranty

    So glad I bought the extended warranty for the Samsung 50in series 8 tv. The warranty I got was for 5yrs. The TV worked great for the past 4 years then the screen didn't show anymore. I called customer service and they replaced it with bigger TV for the same price I paid for the smaller TV of the same brand. Great coverage. Thanks BestBuy.

    I believe the Geek Squad protection should start at the end of the original manufacturers warranty, not immediately. The way this one works, we are only getting one year instead of two years (the one I purchased). Not happy about that at all. During the original warranty, the manufacturer should send someone out to repair your TV.

    We bought this tv for a family member who is bed ridden. This TV provides exceptional viewing experience. Color is sharp and sound is great even without a sound bar. The remote is easy to use which is a blessing. The price was extremely good and of course we choice to add on the protection policy which was extremely cost effective but truly dont think we will need it. There were many add on options to view free for 30 days. A great idea to test things out and see if these things suit you. This transaction was easy and delivery was quick and on time. Samsung is the best product in this class and Best Buy has the greatest service. A very good experience.

    Purchased a Sony TV in June, along with it I purchased Best Buy's 5 year extended warranty. The set developed a problem in Nov. Called the Geek Squad and described the problem. The knowledgeable representative diagnosed the situation over the phone and explained it was a panel failure that could not be repaired. He emailed me an exchange order to bring to my local BB store. Brought the paperwork to the store and they set up a delivery/pickup date for 2 days later. Had I chosen to bring my set in they would have made the exchange right there in the store. All of this took less than an hour to accomplish. Two days later I had my new TV...WOW! Throughout this process every person I dealt with was extremely courteous and helpful. They even offered to let me apply my original purchase price towards any other TV that they carried. Love my Sony so I told them "no thanks". Purchasing that extended warranty was truly a Best Buy for me.

    I've luckily only had to use the replacement plan a few times, but the times I have were a lifesaver. The first major time I had to use Geek Squad was on a fairly pricy monitor I bought. Less than a few months later it decided to spontaneously burn/break mid project. That same day I got it swapped. Not a few weeks later the exact same issue happened. This time it was easy enough to get a credit towards a new monitor that has served me well. Without it there definitely would've been more difficulty. I've also had issues with my TV but I bought the protection plan. At first I thought it was just a remote issue. Got that replaced no issues. A few weeks later it turns out there was a defective memory issue in my TV so I called and was promptly given compensation.

    I always take it an extended warranty because I have found out that it pays off in the end and besides, I want to make sure I'm protected. Best Buy's warranty is a very good warranty, that's why I have no problem in paying for it, even if I don't use it, I do have a piece of mind during those 5 years since the manufacturer warranties are usually only 1 year. Just being able to take it to Best Buy, rather then sending it off, makes it even better.

    As we haven’t had any problems with our newly installed 55” Sony T.V. yet, I’m not able to honestly review the 5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan. However, if the protection plan provides service that’s equal to our installation service, we’re not worried about our ever having to use it!

    Geek squad installed & explained all features very clearly to us. Connected tv to other devices &took my old tv& disposed it. Very friendly, & helpful crew.

    Used their tv repair at home service before. They replaced a defective panel on my tv that would have cost me $500 for free. Don't buy warranty from others and hear "do you have the box your tv came in, you have to send it off yourself to repair center, there's nothing we can do, do you have your receipt from a year ago, I don't really know anything I have to get a manager or any other of the poopie you'll probably hear elsewhere.

    They resolved my issue by replacing my TV with a bigger model after seeing that my TV was unrepairable. Awesome job Geek Squad!
