    I can't really say how good the warranty program is because the device is still working perfectly. But it's good to know we're protected

    Have yet to need to use this. But I was glad they gave me the option again when I exchanged it in store because the first one didn’t have a remote and it was mailed to my house.

    I only give this a 3 rating because the Geek Squad cannot come to our house during Covid as I understand it. I have one issue with a speaker and have not be able to get this resolved.

    Only thing was I got a bundle with movies on last purchase it discounted player so when they gave me gift card I lost 100.00 value of player

    Sony Blu-ray players have become short-lived

    My first Sony Blu-ray DVD player lasted 5 years, my second one 2.5 yrs, and this one less than a year and a half. It shuts off, won't respond to the remote, has to be unplugged, and shut off for at least 2-5 minutes, then restarted. It's gotten to the point where I have to do this about 15 times before it stays on. Getting it to eject the tray for a DVD is worse.

    Incompetent repair/QC costs balance of warranty

    Took a one year old blu ray player that stop playing in, took a month to “fix”. Took it back, another month goes by. This time asked them to show me it was actually fixed, it wasn’t. What did they do with it?? Where’s the QC check? No working player for two months. Their solution was to replace it under the plan, which ‘closes out the 4 year extended plan. The 4 year warranty does not get carried over to the replacement, so 3 years of protection are lost because of their incompetence in two repair attempts. You need to buy another plan for the replacement player. I did some research and next time I’ll get another extended warranties available on the net. They send a prepaid box and return fixed within a week. No trips to the store or appointment needed. Seems like a better value.

    The Blu-ray player that I purchased the Geek Squad Protection decided to break on the last day of coverage. I was able to schedule an repair appointment at 6:40pm at the Cerritos, California store but was told that my coverage had ended because at 6:40pm(Pacific Time) it was 9:40pm (Eastern Time) and Eastern Time is what Best Buy uses when their Geek Squad Protection is purchased and not the location of the purchase.

    I’ve never once used the Geek squad. I don’t even remember buying it. Havnt needed it so far.
