I have never had an issue with returning a troubled item to Best Buy. If they wouldn't let me get a new item, they always gave me a gift card for the original price. I will keep on purchasing these protection plans on the items that matter and get used the most by myself.

With a family of 7this ice maker did really well because we ran it constantly. But definitely get the protection plan. If you don’t use it as often it will last longer than a year

Although the product comes with a manufacturers warranty , it’s good to have this protection plan when your manufacturers warranty is done.
