It's essential to have this protection because you never know if a device will be good or not. It may come with a manufacturing defect that isn't usually noticed at first, but after a certain amount of use, a problem arises. That's what Geek squad protection is for. Love getting this kind of protection! I've always gotten protection with anything I've gotten from Best Buy and they never disappoint.

I paid for a 2year warranty. When tv went out and i called, i was told they didnt sell the tv in that size(58") any longer so i would have to pay $80 difference for a bigger one,plus $63 for a new warranty or they would refund me for what i payed for tv a year ago. Im confused. What was the need for a warranty if they werent going to honor it? Customer service is nasty and very unprofessional.

I'm glad I got my 5 year warranty it worked Wonders when, my 55 inch TV went out. I was given and delivered a brand new one. So I renewed my insurance one more time.

Geek squad delivered and set up my Hisense 75” mini led tv. They arrived on time, was very professional and informative and please t to work with. Would use them again for my next tv.

I have purchased a mini things through Best Buy and everything I have ever brought. I have never had any problems if something went wrong I needed to return it or if something was damaged and I needed to return it the Best Buy Plaza Airport Road is the best never had a hard time they have always been willing to assist me And I appreciate everything they do Best Buy really stand behind a products thank you guys so much. Well worth it considering most new TV’s only last 5-7 years tops. This way I am covered and can maybe save money in long run.

The first unit I had developed an audio problem where audio would drop out or become very distorted on TV speakers, external audio or earphones. Tried several troubleshooting techniques but no luck. Called Best Buy as I had Geek Squad Protection and they decided to send a new unit to replace it. The call took over an hour after being transferred to five different reps. Why not have one phone number that handles protection plans, thus minus one star for that and audio problem on review. The replacement arrived promptly and I set up the new TV. The picture is class leading! HDR and gaming are flawless. At 120 hz refresh rate there is no lag in signal. The audio still has a delay issue when using external audio system. I have 120hz HDMI cables. I’ll look into my setup to be sure it’s not my configuration. The Sony interface could have been more streamlined as there are three buttons on remote to bring up various menus and some are redundant. The software has extensive methods to change TV settings. I’m hoping for future firmware updates to resolve minor issues. For QD OLED I wouldn’t consider another brand coming from an LG OLED TV.

OLED televisions have gotten much better about image retention and burn in but it is still possible no matter what they tell you. Best buy service plan states in its coverage that it covers Burn in on OLED televisions and as far as I know nobody else does no matter what coverage they purchase. Televisions these days aren’t made to last no matter what brand you go with it and I’ve read tons of reviews of flagship TVs going dead with months of purchase and many just after the one year warranty expires. It cost a little extra but I feel better knowing I’m good for at least 5 years.

The repair team at the Minnetonka store went above and beyond to assist me with my issue, they weren't able to resolve the issue due to extenuating circumstances, but I left with a plan and was completely satisfied.
