Quick and Easy to use

Definitely worth the investment for the peace of mind, but the service was much better than I expected going into using it. I’d recommend it and bought it a second time myself with the new TV.

Misleading Two-Year Warranty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 2-year Geek Squad Protection Plan thinking it would provide immediate coverage if something went wrong with my new TV. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. What they don’t tell you upfront is that if your product is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, Geek Squad won’t help you, they’ll just refer you back to the manufacturer. That means you’re really only getting about one year of coverage, not two, because Geek Squad won’t step in until the manufacturer’s warranty expires. To make things even more frustrating, if your TV is wall-mounted, Best Buy won’t unmount it for you unless you pay an additional $150 or hire someone else to do it before they’ll even assist you. So, even though you pay extra for “full protection,” it doesn’t actually feel like full protection at all. This experience feels misleading and like false advertising. When you buy a 2-year protection plan, you expect help anytime during those two years, not to be bounced between companies or charged extra just to start the replacement process. Customers deserve better transparency about what this plan actually covers and when it applies.

Wouldn't Go Without It
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never made a large purchase at Best Buy w/o the Best Buy Standard Geek Squad Protection service. A Best Buy Geek Squad Agent recently determined my Sony XBR-70X-850B had a bad panel / display after two years. I was provided a phone number to call for a replacement. Although I wasn't given "full credit" or what I paid for the TV two years ago, it was close to what I paid two year ago. I asked about upgrading to the Sony XBR-75X940D, and to my surprise, I was able to apply the "credit" towards a brand / model that was a "step-up" from what I had. Within 10 days, I had my new TV (Sony XBR-75X940D) delivered by two Best Buy Geek Squad agents and set up in my home. I won't ever go without the 5-year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan.

Geek Squad and team refunded total cost of almost

Contacted BB Geek Squad, once determined status they put me in touch with a different team, in about 15 minutes they settled for the total cost of the broken TV (less service plan cost). I used that money too heavily discount the replacement TV. Very happy with the whole experience.

Best Investment

Bought a 4-Year GSPP - I'm using it 3 years later!

That's why I always buy a Geek Squad Protection Plan! I've needed to use the warranties on several occasions, and the experience was very satisfactory. Sometimes they replaced the item, refunded the purchase price, or repaired the item. I actually have a 3 1/2 year old blu ray player in the Geek Squad shop right now--under a 4-year extended warranty that I purchased for the item! This time they are repairing it, but that's fine with me. It's so nice that after using it for 3 1/2 years, now that it's not working my extended warranty is kicking in and more than paying for itself!!!
