    I wouldn't buy a thing without The Geek Squad protection plan especially a big TV that hangs on the wall.

    5 year Geek Squad Protection Plan for new Samsung

    Purchased the 5 year Geek Squad Protection Plan to go with our new 65” Samsung TV. Only had the TV for about 2 weeks now and so far no issues and hopefully we don’t have to use it but if we do, we will definitely be holding Best Buy to their part of the deal for sure!

    Was looking into buying a TV through Samsung as there protection plan and other offers seemed pretty good, but then looked through Best Buy and the offers with Geek Squad protection seemed just a few points better money and protection-wise. Geek Squad does a good job of servicing any needs or issues.

    I understand that the consensus is never to buy an extended warranty but, like every other insurance policy you will buy in your life, you'll pay and hope you never have to use it. Depending on item bought, I just consider the cost of the 'protection' as part of the item's cost. IF something goes wrong, there is no chance in he!! I can pick up a 77" TV, put it in my car and get it to the Geek Squad for diagnosis and service.

    Technology has become so sophisticated that it isn't easy to set up a new smart tv. There are so many options that I was not sure how they would affect my tv viewing preferences. Joshua from the Geek Squad walked us through every option and explained what each meant. We now feel confident that we are taking advantage of all options to get the best tv viewing experience we can. Thank you Geek Squad for making this possible!

    Geek Squad Protection Plan

    Fortunately, haven't had to use it yet. But with prior experience with another product... It was a bit inconvenient to have to set up an appointment in order just to drop off and pickup for service. (This prior to Covid). And what happened to be wrong with product wasn't covered under the plan. It was a bit deceptive in what it covered when purchased. I was under the impression that if anything went wrong with product, it would be corrected. You need to pay attention to fine print, to amount of time of warranty and to specifications of what will be covered. Ended up costing me additional money to get repaired. In this instance, not worth the coverage price. Yet, on the purchase of a different product... it was repaired 3x's. Again with the appointments for pickup and drop off. (Prior to Covid) Finally, was replaced with a comperable item. The one I had purchased had been discontinued. In this case, the plan was worth it, minus the inconvenience of picking up and dropping off by appointment. It was just strange that they wouldn't discuss anything with you about problems with product without an appointment. So it basically comes down to what you're purchasing, cost of products and cost of replacing them, as to whether or not price of additional warranty is worth it.

    My computer froze up and I really needed it complete my taxes. I made an account, set up the Geek Squad Membership, and in less than an hour I was back in business.

    excellent warranty had a problem with the tv i had bought they checked it out said it couldnt be fixed gave me credit and i bought a different tv im very happy with

    We purchased a new Samsung television but wanted the extra protection beyond the manufacturer's warranty. The cost was a no brainer given the amount of things it covered. With options of three and five year coverage, we ultimately went with the five year. The cost difference was minimal making the five year the better deal.

    Agents set up my new tv. However, it was frustrating getting them to come to my house. Miscommunications happened several times. But, overall, techs were very knowledgeable and helpful with my questions.

    You can't go wrong with extra security on your purchase. The life expectancy of my Hisense is low to nothing due to almost daily outages in my area. So a little extra protection plan is a must.

    I liked the TV in the beginning loved I had all the apps that my kids could use to watch shows but not the Volume no longer works, and I am hoping it is just a minor issue and the sound will come on.

    We would buy this protection every time it is offered - BestBuy really honors their customers when a product fails and does not make it a big hassle to use it. We buy some products from BestBuy just because of this protection plan vs buying it from another box store or online retailer.
