Back in 2018, I brought a Samsung 50' 7 series 4k TV, and this year (2020), the LED in the TV gave up, and half the screen was black. I was very disappointed with Samsung. I called Geek Squad. They had a tech come to the house to examine the TV to see if it could be fixed, and they told me it was not worth fixing, but I could replace sticking with Samsung or choosing a different brand. They credit me the exact amount I originally had brought the TV for which I decided to do. They come and pick up the old TV and dropped off the new TV. The only thing I wish they would change was not having to pay extra to have them swap the tv on the mount, but it's okay.

The agents set up my television Perfectly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The agents set up my television and they set up a sound bar that I had had before and they connected remotes for not only the TV I bought but for an older TV as well as checked my Orbi mesh system Wi-Fi to make sure it was working correctly with the extenders they went out of their way to help me and they followed the Covid safety protocols they were very knowledgeable and assisted me when I needed a cable and I did not have one they were very very nice as well and extremely helpful. And I worked in customer service for most of my life so I feel that I’m qualified to read these people and I feel that they were absolutely the best part of your geek squad

Geek Squad has Always Had my Back.

When they came on the scene they had a fleet of black and white VW Bugs with their logo on the side . Everyone from the thugs on the street to the Excutives on the top Love these Nerds . Always polite and courteous and for the older crowd trying to learn very very patient . I will work with these people until the end of time.

Definitely add protection to any electric device, it will give you peace of mind just in case something went wrong.

Best buy protection plan is the best

One of the things that I appreciate is that as a best buy program member, my account is on file, so I never have to keep receipts. And I've found customer service at best buy to always be amazing. In many years shopping here, I've used the protection plan once. Funny thing is that it was on a portable cd player almost 2 decades ago. I had left the player in my car and let the batteries corrode. I didn't even know I had purchased a protection plan. Then 1 day I get an email from best buy letting me know that my protection plan was ending (and I think asking if I wanted to get a new plan). I went to my car, found the cd player and brought it back. They didn't even make those anymore at that time, so I was able to get a stereo instead. Lol. That was so long ago, I'm not sure if they even would do that anymore. But, it made me a loyal customer! And also convinced me to always buy the protection!

Geek Squad TV Warranty

They were professional and helpful when advising on the 5 year warranty. I have no issues with tv so far but good to know I have that extra warranty/coverage in case anything happens.

Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

Unmatched service.

The Geek Squad technicians are available for help at times that are convenient for my schedule, and when I need in home help, they are always courteous, professional and efficient. Big Box stores cannot match Best Buy's Geek Squad quality, so I highly recommend it for every purchase when available.

Totally worth it for big ticket items!

It offers a full protection package and in my opinion it is better than the TotalTech. If you're buying a big ticket item like a TV or any appliance, ask the customer service to cancel your TotalTech from this item and add the geek squad warranty instead. Your TV installation will still be covered because of your active TotalTech. What I don't like about TotalTech is that you have to pay a deductible on certain things... this is like an insurance now...
