    Geek Squad has been very diligent

    I experienced a few issues with my five year old 4K LG, and Geek Squad personnel were very diligent about resolving them. The pleasant experience with Geek Squad personnel made the five year Protection Plan on my Sony XR65A95K an easy decision.

    So I mainly purchased this so I could get a warranty and let professionals install our ridiculously expensive entertainment system. Well we have had nothing but issues. So... had to get a replacement TV (Sony - 85" Class X950G), wifi disabled completely, fine whatever. They reinstalled the new one, cool. Definitive speakers (High-Performance 10" 3-way Tower Speaker) constantly pop even when the TV is not even on. Our Logitech remote (Harmony Elite) has issues switching inputs/devices almost every single time we use it. Only when using the smart TV apps it randomly shuts off with the Receiver (Pioneer - Elite 9.2-Ch). Geek squad has been out twice since installation, can't figure out why the smart tv/receiver turns off by itself, can't figure out why speakers always pop, and did absolutely nothing to the smart remote... still have all the same issues over 6 months later. Wife wants to return everything back if we could.

    If I am going to invest in such a expensive item as my 75 in tv [X900F], then I have to purchase insurance on this. Hope I never have to use it. Always rely on Best Buy for a lot of my needs, especially my major electronics. They are quite knowledgeable and eager to provide their input. Please, do ever remove this store so close from my home here in Kendall.

    Misleading Two-Year Warranty

    I purchased the 2-year Geek Squad Protection Plan thinking it would provide immediate coverage if something went wrong with my new TV. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. What they don’t tell you upfront is that if your product is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, Geek Squad won’t help you, they’ll just refer you back to the manufacturer. That means you’re really only getting about one year of coverage, not two, because Geek Squad won’t step in until the manufacturer’s warranty expires. To make things even more frustrating, if your TV is wall-mounted, Best Buy won’t unmount it for you unless you pay an additional $150 or hire someone else to do it before they’ll even assist you. So, even though you pay extra for “full protection,” it doesn’t actually feel like full protection at all. This experience feels misleading and like false advertising. When you buy a 2-year protection plan, you expect help anytime during those two years, not to be bounced between companies or charged extra just to start the replacement process. Customers deserve better transparency about what this plan actually covers and when it applies.

    Haven't had to use Geek Squad yet for any broken items but have purchased open box items in the past that they have certified and the items are always exactly as described so they seem to know how to rate items and what comes with and how to use a device. Geek Squad was also instrumental with getting me a refund on an installation gone bad on my dishwasher (note - Geek Squad wasn't the installer).

    The previous TV was under extended warranty, that really saved us. Highly recommend buying the extended warranty, lightning or electrical surge protection well worth it. We have a High dollar surge protector, it DID NOT prevent or protect or TV.

    Had geek squad on my samsung fridge and it really paid off(twice). You should definitely get it for large applicances asstuff isn't made like it used to be....and these nice things are very expensive when they break.

    It is always good to get the protection plan on almost everything, some things have defects & what not. I bought a brand new tv had it a lil over a month & started to see red dots in several places called the geek squad they sent someone out & it had to be replaced, had i not had that protection plan i would have been on my own, at least get the two yrs if nothing else
