    I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

    Defective TV, Geek protection won't honor

    Geek Squad protection is FOUL...!!!! I was told that the protection plan would start after the manufacturers warranty ended. Samsung gives a Minimum of 1 year manufacturer warranty. So I purchase the 2 year Geek Squad protection for approximately $250.00. in July 31, 2020. Samsungs warranty ended July 31, 2021....therefor, by what I was told by the Best Buy sale person, my Geek Squad protection should start July 31, 2021 and end July 31, 2023. When I called best buy to claim my protection...because the TV has a defect with pixels going dead....lots of pixels, so the best buy rep told me the plan expired ...GET THIS....BECAUSE THE GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION STARTED THE SAME TIME SAMSUNGS WARRANTY STARTS. WHAT SINCE DOES THAT MAKE TO HAVE A PLAN GOING WHILE IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY. AS I WAS TOLD WHEN PURCHASING THE TV THAT IT WOULD START AFTER THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY ENDS. BEST BUY THAT'S NOT RIGHT..... AND THEY KNOW IT'S NOT RIGHT...and gave me the option to PAY $130 more dollars to have a diagnostic test of the TV.

    I purchased this 5yr extended warranty because my last tv crapped out after 3 1/2 yrs. I also had the extended warranty on that tv. Geek Squad was unable to repair the tv so they replaced it with a brand new comparable model. They made everything simple, installed the new tv and removed the old one. I would highly recommend purchasing the extended warranty for any high end model tv. One year standard warranty isnt enough.

    The price for this warranty is amazing and when the tv and install were discounted really helped with the funding of the entire purchase and it was and is worth every penny spent

    I have always purchased the Geek Squad protection plans for large purchases. Thankfully I have only had to use it a couple of time, sure glad that I had it. Some people don't care to or say not purchase. I personally always feel better when I do.

    As we haven’t had any problems with our newly installed 55” Sony T.V. yet, I’m not able to honestly review the 5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan. However, if the protection plan provides service that’s equal to our installation service, we’re not worried about our ever having to use it!

    I paid for this just because I know how my kid eels in the last TV I had he damaged it so I paid the money for five years and I think this is a good warranty. I recommend everybody to get it especially if you know how your kids are and they like to throw things and stuff like that. This is a must have for your TV you guys.

    I believe the Geek Squad protection should start at the end of the original manufacturers warranty, not immediately. The way this one works, we are only getting one year instead of two years (the one I purchased). Not happy about that at all. During the original warranty, the manufacturer should send someone out to repair your TV.
