Not quite sure I am convinced these are worth the cost.
In 2 cases over the last 15 years have I ever used one and it wasn't really worth it.
The product was outdated and I simply chose to upgrade to the newer version.

Within a month of purchasing this microwave the plastic on the touch pad began to bubble up, crack and peel. The Geek Squad considers this cosmetic and will do nothing about it .I purchased a 4 yr warranty with this Sharp microwave. The first Sharp I purchased from Best Buy lasted 11 months before shorting out. I have received a new microwave from Sharp, but am having difficulty getting the Geed Squad to honor my 4 year warranty purchased and transfer it to the replacement Microwave sent by Sharp. They will not let me speak to anyone in the USA, only off shore operators and they give me the run around.
Last time I used their service I left very unhappy

I took my desktop in and the kid who checked me out knew little about computers. I went to office max and they took care of a problem that geeks could not fix. I complained to the best buy manager, and I felt that she could have cared less.
And now you have to make an appointment , or they wont talk to you

It is a must to buy a protection plan for all large appliances and some small appliances. We bought a refridgerator and a washer for 1,811.31 and the sales associate we had did not put our information into the computer nor did he offer us rewards points or tell us any information about the Geek Squad plan and now our refridgerator will only spit out crushed ice and I do not like it. We are also missing 1,811.31 in rewards points due to the bad sales rep we had and Best Buy has yet to satisfy them. Just giving you a heads up because every $250.00 you spend you get a $5.00 gift card to Best Buy. It is a must to spend the extra 39.99 on the protection plan. Good Luck!

I bought the extended warranty for my new microwave, because my last one quit at three years and the warranty is for four years. When I used an extended warranty at Best Buy on a printer I had purchased, the Geek Squad was GREAT, and they ended up replacing the printer with a new one. To me, it is worth the extra cost for this "insurance". Thanks Best Buy!
