2001: A Space Odyssey in 4K is a revelation. Anyone who loves this movie must see it at this resolution.

The 4K transfer of a 50 year old movie is perfect. Sound is clear and powerful. Great Kubrick movie.

Latest format brings out the genius that is Stanley Kubrick. Sci fi gotta have in your collection.

Stanley did a great job with this film. It was produced in 1968 but the effects are stellar.

Haven’t played the 4K version yet but love the movie. Hope the 4K lives up to its reputation.

And interesting idea and concept for a movie set in the future with an odd space story as well

Horror fan here. I saw this movie years ago, probably on VHS as a kid. I enjoyed this space odyssey (perfect name) even more now after all these years. A sci-fi horror I would characterize now. I don't fully understand it, but it is enjoyable and unique. My disk had trouble in one scene, but I got through it. I recommend this movie to any cinephile or Stanley Kubrick fan. Everybody knows the scene I reference in my title.

Best looking image for this movie ever. I was impressed with the film in its initial theater run at a premier movie house in Philly in 1968. This 4k disc even tops what I remember seeing in a theater when I saw it again back in the 1970's. I've had VHS, Laser disc, DVD, and Bluray versions of this movie over the years and this new edition has the chops to stun anyone. The mastering of the image and sound belies its 1968 vintage.

This classic came to Blu-ray in 2007. The quality of the video is near perfect and the colors rich and vibrant. Filmed in 70mm widescreen with an aspect ratio of 2.2.1. The sound track is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and is crystal clear on the blu-ray release. A must have for the avid film collector. The opening scene of the film was shot in early morning light and really shows off how beautiful this release handles color!! Can't wait to see it in 4K, which has been announced for release later this year..

I was a little scared, you know that the quality would be only good. My fear was unfounded. This 4K IS Reference Quality. No Marvel or Fast & Furious movie on 4K holds a candle to this copy. It is so good that it may be years before anything comes close. Hear that Cameron?! I dare you to top this with Avatar on 4K. I DARE YOU. You better pick this up at BB before people sell this on ebay for some crazy price.

I’ve been waiting for this to be Released on 4K ever since Warner Bros announce it back in early 2018. I first saw back in November 2018 and BestBuy refused to sell it to me due to its release Date. Now its here and I’m happy to own especially this Steelbook. Haven’t seen it yet on 4K, but I for sure will this weekend. This movie is a Great Science Fiction movie one of my top 5 Favorite Stanley Kubrick’s films. I hope The Shinning is the next Kubrick film to be released on 4K.

Awesome movie. Great character development and production value for the period.

Not a huge fan of the movie, but the transfer is supposed to be excellent.

One of the classics of cinema - let alone science fiction - which looks breathtaking in this version!!!it The movie charts the progress of mankind from cave-dwelling apes to space travel and beyond, each stage heralded by a mysterious alien artefact, the Black Monolith. 2001 is a nonverbal and visual experience.Make of it what you will, but relax and enjoy this perplexing visual feast for the eyes and mind.
