Stanley Kubrick's finest movie and science fiction's greatest achievement. It set a standard before Star Wars, Alien and many other sci-fi classics, which gave inspiration to all directors following in Kubrick's footsteps. Easily can be seen in today's market with wonder and amazement engaging it's audience completely.

This was the first movie to realistically represent space travel. There is no air in space so there is no sound. The premise is that man has found a space relic on the moon and tries to trace its source. The new 4K transfer is a remaster and has noticeably better detail and colors. if you love this movie, it is a must...

This is about as perfect of a 4k transfer as can be imagined. Keep in mind that this movie is decades old and will have film grain and other quirks of true film. That said, there are details that are beautiful and previously unseen in versions of 2001 on other media. Audio is decent — not Atmos — but great otherwise!

What can i say about this masterpiece of cinema. The movie that changed movies forever. One of the best looking 4k movies i have ever seen. The picture quality is mind blowing. The visuals still look great today. 2001 is the greatest movie ever made. Mr Kubrick the world of cinema misses you.

Kubrick's masterful space epic gets the Blu-Ray release it deserves! For those who haven't seen this incredible 1968 film, I strongly recommend you check it out. I just recently got into 4K, and in my research for titles to seek out, this was on the top of most lists. The movie has always been a favorite of mine, and I was thinking it would be amazing in 4K. And I was right. This film lends itself to the very best feature of 4K! Highly recommended!

Wanted to purchase this on Blu Ray, but never took the time to do so. We what do you know, I’m walking through Best Buy (pre Covid19) and to my surprise, 2001 is on sale. Beautiful picture, sound quality is very good for a movie of this age. Very enjoyable movie and it should reside in your library!

A movie has not meant so much of a social commentary as it means for this day and age we live due to the rise of upcoming AI and it’s potential impact on our lives and planet we call home. A must see now more than ever. Beautiful classical music set in the backdrop of the infinite darkness of space.

Wow! Excellent sound and picture. I had seen this in the Cinerama theater when it first came out. This is so nostalgic. The shipment was very timely and in excellent condition.

How much more can you say about this ubiquitous is science-fiction classic? HDR really helps out the colors balance and shadow detail. Especially the beginning with the apes as it had a lot of dark scenes. Can see lots more detail. It is as I remember it when I saw it in the theater.

There's not much more that can be said about this timeless sci-fi classic. But the new part is the 4K transfer of "2001: A Space Odyssey" It is absolutely stunning. The clarity and color palette made it seem as though I was watching the movie for the first time. Thoroughly enjoyable, and I'm extremely happy with the 4K upgrade.

This my friends is a classic. This is a cerebral masterpiece. This is one of Kubrick's greatest works of art. The presentation contained on this 4k UHD disc is impressive, most impressive. This should be in your collection. So what are you waiting for? A sale? pffft.

This is one of the coolest movies every. It is definitely a mind-trip. Although it's almost 50 years old, there is something timeless about it. I've never watched another movie like it. One of the most amazing aspects of this movie is its use of silence. In the scenes in outer space, it creates a feeling of how you would imaging it would actually be.

I never purchased this movie until I saw this edition was being released. Upon watching it, I was extremely happy with the purchase. It looks and sounds phenomenal. Soon Full Metal Jacket will be re-released, so I may be inclined to buy that as well seeing how nice this turned out!

'2001: A Space Odyssey' is not only my favorite film of all time, it's a film I've owned numerous versions of over the years since first discovering it. Staggeringly beautiful and utterly profound, Kubrick's timeless masterpiece has never looked or sounded better than it does now in 4K UHD!

the movie needs no words. it's must seeing for the technical prowess of the time it was made. my review keys in on the 4k steelbook. it's worthy of your collection if you can now get, since it has now been listed as 'sold out'. don't let that deter you, it may come back online again, like it did from an earlier listing.

This is one of the greatest movies ever mad. It is one of my all time favorite movies. This movie is so great, it can be seen 2001 times. It even looks great on DVD. The special effects are so awesome, they look a lot better than the effects seen now in current mainstream movies. Watching this movie on the big screen is even more spectacular. See this movie any way you like.

Interstellar was a bad rip-off of this original masterpiece. Awe-inspiring storytelling combined with wonderful music and setting weave a tale as grand and deep as has ever been told. HAL is one of the ultimate sci-fi characters of all time. The ending is so powerful and thought-provoking I doubt there will ever be a more mysterious and powerful movie.

2001 is just amazing. I love how Stanley Kubrick made this very weird (for the time) sci-fi film not caring at all what anyone thought and it turned out to be a pure masterpiece. This is a really cool package. I’d recommend it to anyone who respects and collects the physical.
