It was very hard to get the Steelbook and I thank the guys at my local Best Buy for finding one. When they refer to 4K as reference quality this is it. The picture is so crazy sharp you will find yourself stopping the scene just to stare at it. The 4k version is the way to go.

You either love this movie or not. I will just review the 4K aspects. This is a vast improvement over the DVD in both sound and picture quality. I never owned the Blu Ray, but I've read that it out does that version also. It is well worth adding to your video collection.

It's hard to believe Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi epic: "2001: A Space Odyssey" is 50 years old and its effect can still be felt as viewers tend to have a matter of opinions on the film. The new restoration is a welcome compared to the previous editions of this film and comes highly recommended.

Saw a lot of parodies before I watched what they were parodying. Now I see why it was referenced so much. This movie has an interesting setting and story. I love Kubrick, and every one I discover continually reminds me why.

I'm so glad I upgraded one of my favorite films to 4K. This film has always been beautiful and the 4K version is nothing short of spectacular. Kubrick was so ahead of his time. Look how this film holds up so many years after its release. A must-have in 4K!

One of THE most ground breaking films ever made. No computer effects here and yet nothing short of magnificence is the achievement even 50 years later. 2001, is essentially pictures to AC Clarke's book, but Kubrick's ambiguity makes this work of art even more thought provoking.

I wish I got this with a slipcover and a digital code (not included) However I am not dissapointed. Once I tried this on my 4k player the visuals and color palletes are vibrant and vivid. Much much better than the bluray.

Great picture and sound. This is the best looking version of 2001 I've ever seen. If you like this movie, I would recommend this 4K version. It's a blast to watch on a large screen.

I can’t say anything about this film that hasn’t been said before. Just know it is a film that many others point to as inspiration. You could even say that scintillating has 2 periods. Those that came before and those that came after 2001!

If you have a sense of film history, 2001 A Space Odyssey is must see and have. True, we have not achieved what is depicted here, but for someone in 1968 to bravely make a statement about where we could be speaks volumes for faith in men. If you crave CGI effects you won't find them here, but the story trumps all.

Of course the original movie is stunning. This 4k edition gets the proper treatment. Kubrick's masterpiece is given all the care and attention it deserves. No cons that I can think of, Nice selection of bonus material as well.

I've seen every version of 2001 that's been made for home theaters over the years, but none have looked as beautiful as it does here on bluray. A truly mindbending experience and a must for any fan of sci-fi. Open the entertainment center doors and immerse yourself in one of Kubrick's greatest films!

2001 was ahead of it's time when it came out. The picture on Blu Ray is something else. WE ALL KNOW THAT THIS MOVIE IS SOMETHING TO SEE A FEW TIMES TO UNDERSTAND IT. This movie is crystal clear and the sound fantastic. The computer HAL just makes the movie and the picture OH MY GOD!!

2001 is the ultimate sci-fi lover’s movie. True science fiction, in fact, began with this blockbuster. 4K cinematography takes this brilliant movie to a whole new level! Unbelievable attention to the tiniest detail, sharp graphics, and too much more to list here.

I was worried that this 4k version of one of the most visually stunning movies of all time would be disappointing, as some 4k versions of older movies can be. However, I can assure you that it is as perfect as could be on the small screen. Well worth the price!

A great Science Fiction movie from director Stanley Kubrick. Terrific cinematography, and this Blu-ray edition has excellent video & audio quality. Some very nice special features are also included in this edition.

Many years since it was first exhibited, this film still is very relevant to the key elements of science fiction. Space, time travel, aliens and so on. Spoiler alert -> It is a film that makes you think, so it will give you pieces of the puzzle instead of spoon feeding you with the plot.

This awesome film really highlights all of the amazing events of 2001. I can’t believe the realism and cinematography. The primate sequences really highlight the political administration of that time so accurately.

I would recommend just as it was passed unto me by cosmic wave. I was lured also to this movie from the hunch it featured a scene of primitive man however it wasn't the movie I realized it to be. I will look for it still. A movie featuring a captive primitive man under glass, o well. It continues on in a part duex. That will impress in collective of this tale of space. I minused one star due to my belief the ending was capped and to me caused a distant reality yet worth seeing and especially in its retro and modern show.

This is by far one of the greatest movies of all time, and it is highly appropriate that its restoration is just as brilliant. For a movie that is nearly 60 years old, it looks as if it were a made in our modern times.
