tuner only gets one fuzzy channel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor tuner. Use the TV strictly for gaming, not what I purchased it for but making the best of it.

This isn't a "television" as far as I'm concerned!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this 24" Insignia LED television model NS-24D310NA17 not with the intent of using it to view cable or over-the-air television programs! My intentions were to use this product as a "monitor" for my 15.6" laptop computer. I've connected them both together with an HDMI cable. The LED imagery of this TV "far" surpasses what is found on the laptop's monitor screen and this is not meant to be a criticism of the laptop's performance. This television, as the product specifications indicate, has a great viewing angle--step to the side or look at the TV screen from above or below and the images look great even under those viewing conditions. A lot of TVs these days don't have a headphone jack; however, this one does. In fact, there are "3" settings for the TV's speakers--on, off, and auto. I leave my 3.5mm m/f extension cord plugged in the back of the TV all of the time. What is also great is that this TV has "2" speakers and, in my opinion, they perform well enough for what I am using this TV for that I do not need external computer speakers. Each leg of the TV is only anchored with one tiny screw; however, when the legs are properly mounted on the TV and the screws are tightened, there is absolutely no movement. This TV is "extremely" light weight and that is a good thing! I made 1-1/2" high elevated platforms out of pine wood of adequate width and placed them under the TV's legs (after painting them and trimming them out) so that the TV is closer to being at eye level when placed on my computer desk. The estimated cost to operate this TV per year is $6.00 which is pretty economical. I replaced this TV's factory remote control with an Insignia remote control model NS-RMT415 as I feel that it's commands are better recognized by the TV.

I rarely give 5 stars
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews for several Insignia TV's, intending to get a smaller size. The under-$250 price made the 48" irresistible - and I really appreciate having the larger screen. It's less than two months old at this point, but here's what I like about it: - Set up was very simple. (The stand is adequate - but I might have concerns if I had young kids running around nearby. But that would probably be true for any table-top flat screen.) - The picture is excellent. (I'm using it for playing DVD's, streaming content, and over-the-air programming; obviously the picture is only as good as the source.) We aren't gamers, so only having a 60Hz refresh rate has not been an issue. - The sound is much better than I was anticipating, given a couple reviews that felt it was below their expectations. We use it in our family room which has a vaulted ceiling and it's very clear for a couple with 70-something-year-old ears. I guess if I had a "home theater", I might want a better add-on sound system - but that would be true for any set. What things could be better? - A couple reviewers mentioned the remote. I now understand what they meant - it just feels puny. (It's small and doesn't feel very substantial in your hand.) But all the necessary features are there and it works fine. If it really bothered me, I'd buy a universal remote. - I'd like to be able to switch back and forth between different inputs - so I could watch a movie I was streaming, but easily check up on the score of a game being aired. (Maybe there is a way to do it and I just don't know it???) - I miss my satellite menu - being able to see what's going to be broadcast later in the day or later in the week. (I can do it with the channels I stream via Roku, so it's just an issue for over-the-air programming.) But that's not the TV's fault. FYI, this was our first HDTV and it made it possible - when hooked up to a service that also provided a free streaming device - to get the programming we want at a substantial savings over our old satellite service - the savings will pay for the TV in less than a year. (Of course we're near a moderately large city and are able to get over 20 channels over the air.)

Perfect TV for mid-small rooms
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv works in bedroom, prefect size to sit on dresser or chest & watch tv. I figured that the picture would not be as good as my LR tv, but this little tv surprised me. Definitely more than worth the price I paid on-sale/ Just to be safe, I did purchase the extended warranty thru Geek Squad & that was a good investment. I would definitely purchase another when I need another small sized tv.

For the price it can't be beat!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a new TV for my bedroom, and saw this one on sale for $80. Decided to give it a try since I like my Insignia DVD player. I couldn't be happier. The picture is crisp and clear, the sound is decent, and the size is perfect for my room. I'm seriously thinking of getting a larger Insignia for my living room.

Lasted almost three years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess I'd say I got my money's worth out of this TV. Purchased for my home office. It's on almost all day, every day, mostly for background noise. Screen went black last night but still have sound. The only thing I could think to do is unplug it and plug it back in. Still no picture this morning. Sometimes audio would not sync with video but a quick one channel over, one channel back would fix that when viewing using a coax connected WiFi antenna. Also streamed using a Firestick which worked fine. It worked well enough for me that I'm probably going to order the model that replaces this one. I am only selecting I would not recommend this to a friend because BB is forcing me to make the recommendation and it is no longer available.

BEST Best Buy!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a 19 inch LED tv, you would be crazy NOT to buy this. I have owned one for over a year now, and the picture quality is just as good as one that cost TWICE as much.

Good picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV after returning a Westinghouse 24" unit. Overall picture quality is much better than the Westinghouse. The main flaw is that the screen reflects too much light. However, all the 24" TVs I saw at BB, with the exception of the VIZIO, reflect too much light. Considering that 24" TVs are often used in places where there is a lot of ambient light, you would thing the manufacturers would pay more attention to this. Black levels are decent, but not great, and the loss of contrast for off-axis viewing is acceptable. The sound is ok. Price has been cut to $80 - I paid $90 for mine. A very good deal at this price.

Good for kids room
