We use a lot of ice, more than our refrigerator ice maker can handle. the size of the ice is perfect, especially for smoothies and margaritas. I don't really see a difference between the "small" cubes and the "large" cubes. I love that it recirculates the water if the ice melts so there's no waste. which it kept the ice ccooler though so it doesn't melt as fast.

Other icemakers I've bought will keep making ice as long as the catch tray isn't full. This one, once it's full, you have to open the lid for it to keep making ice, even if it melts to the point the catch tray is empty.

This is so handy that I wonder why I didn't get it sooner. The little machine puts out ice on a regular basis. We haven't run out yet. Before a gathering the wife simply put some away ahead of time. This is a must have. People in the house drink more water because you cah have it nice and cold. Everything about this has been good
