Love geek squad. Something wrong? I don’t have the energy for problem solving

I am so glad I bought this coverage. The other day there was an incident involving a cat and a glass of beer. I was hoping that letting my laptop dry for a few days would be enough, but it wasn't. I'll be heading to my local store shortly to get my new laptop repaired.

Best Buy determined my laptop met the criteria for replacement, since it completely failed after about 4.5 months of use. However, these warranties are STORE CREDIT or REPLACEMENT ONLY. The terms — which aren’t well presented and are buried in 500+ Q&A entries or an obscure online PDF — show that they do not do cash reimbursement. This is disingenuous. When you’re buying the warranty, the product page proudly lists all the benefits, but never mentions that they don’t do cash or check reimbursement. Why hide that fact unless you don't want people to see it? And it gets worse. The warranty (depot) people tell you to talk to the store for anything even remotely related to replacement or reimbursement. When you talk to the store, they tell you that if you want any change in your warranty reimbursement or resolution, you need to talk to the depot. It’s absurd, anti-consumer, and dubious. At best. And here’s another one: if you call your local store number— you get the main call center. You have to press the right buttons in the automated menu to talk to the right person in the right department, who will then transfer you to the store. Yes, you are, in fact, meant to get the runaround. They just want you in THE STORE. I will tell everyone: do not buy anything that requires a warranty from Best Buy. Valuable products need warranties, and once you buy one from them, you’re trapped in their ecosystem and forced to keep doing business with them in the future. If you want a warranty for the replacement?? You’ll be right back on this page again.

The agents were very helpful and tech savvy they helped me navigate through my whole new laptop.

After purchasing HP laptop and an unfortunate accident with it i sought help from the Geek Squad and Regina provided me with the best service i could hope for. She is amazing and professional. She is patient, friendly and courteous at the same time and certainly knows the business very well to get the client the best service possible. I am very happy with the purchase and with the Geek Squad department in general but Regina seems to have all the answers and knows to relieve the client from any concerns. Thank you!

Geek Squad is amazing! Always attentive and knowledgeable. I don't know what I would do without them! Totally worth the money!

I always get this service on my electronics. It is gives me good peace of mind that I can get a replacement if it breaks. The replacement will often be a refurbished device, so the battery life can sometimes leave something to be desired. That said the devices are always in great shape and look and run like new. Ill take an old battery in a new computer over a cracked screen any day of the week, so this is well worth it.

Should have opted for longer plan. My laptop fried almost exactly a year into having it and geek squad sent it off for repair and had it back to me before my finals were due!

It's worked great. Having kids this is a must with your purchase. Repairs are fast and easy, no questions.

This is worth it if you have any electronics that are over $1,000

Its worth it but also not worth it. If ur sure nothings going to happen to your computer than its worth it such as not drinks and such near it. And it sits its 1 place and u dont carry it around or rought it up not worth it but its worth it when somthing goes wrong so its hard to say for sure if its worth it. But its truly only worth it if somthing does go wrong. Its like a expensive gamble lol. Im going to be using them to fix somthing w On my laptop i judt bought here soon so ill update this review once that happens.

I like this laptop because it is a widescreen cool. I like because it is thin computer also I love my CD/DVD optical drive. I was going to get me a DELL but, they didn’t have I was looking for. The rep was cool with me. Best Buy has got the ticket. I also bought me a Smart TV in October the tech and salesman was cool setting me up it was the last INSIGINIA ROKU SMART TV it has what I need especially free tv, local channels in the USA I really wished if someone show how do I find local channels in New York City and Northeast New Jersey because I used live there but, I miss New York City. I also the like the New York City radio stations such WQCD 101.9 Smooth Jazz station and WCBS 880 Radio.

Geek squad is the best, I wouldn’t purchase an electrical Item without covering with the geek squad.

Tried to redeem warranty and was told my laptop would have to be shipped out and would take about a month before I could see the new one. Probably worth the money and the peace of mind, but keep in mind that any repair will put you out of your device for at least 30 days if it is not an easily repairable device.

The best, I wish I would have known about this sooner, for my older laptop.
