    Replaced 3 laptops that got damaged from my business with them as the laptops were initially purchased through Best Buy with the Geek Squad warrenty. Sent the laptops out for repair, and then received them a week later. Easy to use and friendly staff that kept me up to date of the repair progress.

    Absolutely love the Geek Squad service. We've always used this service with some of the items we've purchased (tv/sound bar install, Arlo camera install and trouble-shooting, laptop trouble-shooting. Well worth the cost. Would always ensure we have Geek Squad protection for some of the more expensive electronics.

    If you purchase this plan and have a problem with the product, Geek Squad will make it right. I buy a lot of tech gear, I always purchase the warranty, it's been worth it 1000 times over when I had a problem late in the products life. It's worth the month.

    I don't usually purchase extended warranties, but in this case I thought it was wise for the peace of mind. My old laptop fell off the table and the touch screen was smashed. So when I bought the replacement laptop I wanted to be sure that I would be covered if something like that would happen again.

    Only store credit, questionable warranty practices

    Best Buy determined my laptop met the criteria for replacement, since it completely failed after about 4.5 months of use. However, these warranties are STORE CREDIT or REPLACEMENT ONLY. The terms — which aren’t well presented and are buried in 500+ Q&A entries or an obscure online PDF — show that they do not do cash reimbursement. This is disingenuous. When you’re buying the warranty, the product page proudly lists all the benefits, but never mentions that they don’t do cash or check reimbursement. Why hide that fact unless you don't want people to see it? And it gets worse. The warranty (depot) people tell you to talk to the store for anything even remotely related to replacement or reimbursement. When you talk to the store, they tell you that if you want any change in your warranty reimbursement or resolution, you need to talk to the depot. It’s absurd, anti-consumer, and dubious. At best. And here’s another one: if you call your local store number— you get the main call center. You have to press the right buttons in the automated menu to talk to the right person in the right department, who will then transfer you to the store. Yes, you are, in fact, meant to get the runaround. They just want you in THE STORE. I will tell everyone: do not buy anything that requires a warranty from Best Buy. Valuable products need warranties, and once you buy one from them, you’re trapped in their ecosystem and forced to keep doing business with them in the future. If you want a warranty for the replacement?? You’ll be right back on this page again.

    I have not had to use it and I hope I never have too but last year I bought a Chromebook and didn't get the protection plan and then it brought as I am ended up with a very expensive paper weight

    Very fast laptop - press the on button, put in my password and it’s up and running. This is the first time I’ve had a laptop with AMD chip. No problems so far although I do agree with other reviewers about the large charger-very large compared to other chargers of the same type of device.

    Maybe 15 or 20 years ago, I would not have gotten any coverage. However, I'm a believer today. I've used the Geek Squad to help with with Outlook (this is my first time with Outlook, I was used to another software), and connected my printer. The Geek Squad was friendly, knowledgeable, quick to help and solve any issues I had. This is one of the best investment I made when I was at the store.

    Having the Geek Squad 1-year Accidental Protection was the best investment I made. my backpack which was carrying my laptop got wet and it effected my laptop..i took it in for service and because the damage was beyond repair they gave me a gift card with the value of the laptop so I could purchase a new one

    Robert of the geek squad unlocked my Microsoft account for me. Afterwards I asked about purchasing insurance for my new computer, and he got on that right away. I then got a discount for being a geek squad member. Robert did an excellent job managing the others waiting for their appointments.

    Purchcing Geek Squad protection with my new computer was one of the best things I have ever bought! Not only did they help me fix a problem on my new computer but they also got rid of the thousands of viruses on my old computer! The techs were professional, attentive and extremely helpful. They fixed all my problems and answered all my questions! I would recommend this service to any one !

    When you have an upscale laptop, accidental damage becomes a concern. This protection policy eases that concern. The ease of getting repair work at the local Best Buy is also a huge factor. I've had very good experiences with it and scheduling appointments online is very convenient.

    Geek squad protection is totally worth it!! Used it within the first 2 weeks when my screen got a bad crack in it and stopped working... was super convenient and practically fool proof process!

    I haven't had to use to use my protection plan yet, however, it seems to be very comprehensive which is always reassuring when you are trying to protect such an expensive product as a laptop. I will say that it is a bit pricey, so this will certainly jack up the price of your product purchase if you are buying the product and protection plan together. Overall though, it is well worth the buy.

    I have had the computer for less then three months and the battery just depletes on Overwatch alone, cant even last one match without plugging it in so now i was able to get it all fixed and squarwd aqay !0
