The protection plan saved me when the warranty on the device expired and it broke suddenly, allowing me to purchase a new one at no cost.

This absolutely saved me on my last computer. Almost two years later I dropped a dishwasher on my laptop (Don't ask). It was out of stock and so I got a gift card for the value to replace it and upgraded to the newer version of the laptop. I will always get this.
