Always get the protection plan. Especially if you have kids that love to play with water. This covers water damage which makes this plan so much better

Bought HP Omen Gaming Desktop Dec 28th. It has been used less than 20 times. Purchased 200/300 warranty. Best Buy Plus Member (former now). Just dropped off computer due to operating/software issue according to Geek Squad. You would think they and Best Buy would fix my barely used, 3 month old 1,300 computer. NOPE. Manager made me purchase a yearly membership or pay $250. So...this million dollar company just had me return a $700 unopened laptop and will now lose my business on our kitchen remodeling. Geek Squad is always very helpful and really know what they are doing. I have always purchased this in fact I purchased it before my trip to best buy in September.

I have not had to use my insurance yet. My computer is working perfectly. I have used the protection plan on prior purchases, so it is worth the price.
