    Should buy the insurance

    You should definitely buy the insurance it's very helpful but just keep in mind there is possibly going to be a deductible but it will be definitely cheaper than what you paid for the product

    usually don't buy computers from bestbuy but microsoft store was closed because of Covid. Hate having to mail products off because "geek squad" is nothing more than a postoffice.

    I bought the protection. It was close to half the price for a 2nd tablet. I often 2nd guess these types of protection services. Do it again...probably not.

      Having additional protection on electronics can often come in handy when there are unexpected issues that arise. Our Accidental Geek Squad Protection does cover against drops and spills in addition to standard coverage.     From past experience they do what they can to resolve any issues. If they can’t solve a problem they can assist in the purchase of a better product

    My son has had a couple of Fire tablets and ended up cracking the screen. The warranty has always replaced the tablet and then I just purchase a new warranty for the replacement. We’ve actually replaced a couple until the last time…… my in-laws also have a fire tablet and Best Buy let them have my warranty (they bought their own warranty), so when I needed to replace mine the warranty had already been fulfilled. Yes, we have the same last name but not the same first name or phone numbers. After 2 days of talking to a manager at the store and someone through the 800 customer service number it was never resolved. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

    I thought that the plan starter have the mansfactory plan run out but it don,t. I think this is not right. You are not getting what you are paying for.

    It's hard to get around buying this replacement insurance. There is no cheap way to fix any problem with an electronic device whether it's damaged or has just quit working past its warranty period.

    The Geek Squad located at my local Best Buy has always been helpful to me. Sometimes they get backed up and appointments are necessary, but most of the time I am able to walk right up to them and they have helped me.

    They used to operate differently. When I needed a repair, I could simply send the item to any store or receive a replacement. Now, I can't initiate a service without an appointment, am unable to have a contactless appointment, cannot send a package for diagnosis, am not allowed to leave a package in the store, and can't obtain a replacement. The nearest Best Buy is an hour away from my home. Why must I allocate at least four hours for this appointment and pickup when other services offer repair solutions any time in-store or via package? I have decided not to make any future purchases from Best Buy.

    I have not had to use them yet. But 30 dollars for 1yr protection seemed decent to me when I bought my tablet. Just to be on the safe side lol

    Tablet protection plan was a total rip off

    When I purchased my tablet I was talked into the purchase of a 1 year extended warranty. I was informed that it would cover accidental damage to the tablet, including should it crack due to accidentally being dropped. Well I accidentally dropped the tablet and the tablet case cracked. I took it in to the local store and was told it would need to be sent out for repair to replacement. I chose the option to pick it up at the store upon repair. A couple of days I received it returned to me at home without any repair. I was subsequently informed the it would not be repaired as the cracked case did not appear to affect the tablet performance.
