I am never the type of person to purchase an extended warranty. After some consideration I ended up purchasing the Geek Squad protection plan for my LG CX series OLED, I had it for several years and one day I noticed pink and grey horizontal lines on the lower half of my screen. I immediately called and scheduled to have one of the techs come out and diagnose my screen. The tech informed me that the cost of a new panel exceeded the allowable amount for replacement and they would actually replace my Tv for a newer generation! Great TV, with good quality of both visuals and SOUND. We have a soundbar that we got from a friend when they moved but even before the sound bar the sound quality was amazing. 4yrs later we are still so happy with this purchase

Your utility from this service is going to vary greatly depending on the products and services you purchase, The amount of time you are OK with devoting to setting up your own devices, and your level of technical competence and education. For me, this service is not something I would use most of the time - BUT - for certain product categories like OLED displays, the peace of mind is worth the extra cost, knowing I can exchange the display for a replacement if it burns in or has another failure during the warranty period. Overall, it really depends on your personal needs, but this service definitely has its place, and can be a real value depending on your situation.
